Another month another music game.

Don't get me wrong I love these things, but they are shooting them out as quickly as they can to 'cash in' on the craze and I am pretty sick of it.

I am calling a personal time out until guitar hero 9, guitar hero world tour 4, and rockband 6.

@VioletPheonix: I didn't mind a new Guitar Hero or Rock Band each year...which was what they had for a while.

But 4 Guitar Hero games in a year? (5 if you consider that GHIII came out around this time last year) Absurd. Especially when you start to see overlap in the setlists as we are here.

@Gofthick: There's so many things other than flash memory that plug into a Compact Flash slot that plugging into the SD slot is always an option. Of course that grip would then need its own SD slot for DLC.

@CheckersMcGavern: No, it's a very valid point. As is the fact that several of these songs are already in World Tour.

The idea is to provide players with a new experience...not a dumbed down version of songs they can already play. (For example...having played Spiderwebs in World Tour I no longer desire playing it on Tour)

I've seen ads for this game...but they all show the bundle (game plus Guitar Grip). Are they providing a standalone for anybody who may already have the first game + Grip?

@VTchina: While I like the song list, one thing I don't quite follow is the "Decades" moniker.

As though previous Guitar games (save the 80s) weren't also spanning multiple decades and genre of music...

It's kind alike "World Tour". I mean, what about the new Guitar Hero puts the emphesis on the "world" aspect in a way that hasn't been done by previous games?

@phrequency: I'm so happy that they can finally get all of the songs that have been released for Rock Band or Rock Band 2, some more awesome FAIL by RedOctane/Activision. Seriously I'm sick of these retarded Guitar Hero games that are simply knock offs of previous Harmonix games. Activision is all that is wrong with the industry right now.
