wouldnt the "shredderz" buttons make it more difficult for lefties, seeing as how they seem to hinge in the middle of the fretboard and only depress on the bottom half of the fretboard (as played by a righty)?
@Dangerwillrobinson: My friend just got a rare Tokai from the 60's (was essentially a Strat clone) that is valued at 1000 dollars even in the mediocre condition it is in...for free off some guy cleaning out his garage on Craigslist. And it sounds fantastic, much better than the used Ibanez he spent 400 bucks on.
Anyway - other than that I agree with you. And I love this comic.
@mutedia: Yeah, this goes hand-in-hand with fender's new 'Road Worn' series. Buy a guitar that looks like utter shit, that does not have any of the vintage parts that players actually care about.
@Madeira: yup I've seen some work being done... slapping a guitar with a belt buckle.. I Don't care for most of it. it's like jeans that look pre worn, I Don't need any help wearing them out. thank you.
As a telecaster nut, I must say that while it's very pretty, there are a couple things wrong with this. The bigsby tremelo never existed on the '52 blackguard telecaster, and those teles also has blonde necks instead of rosewood. This looks like a 50's tele mashed with a 60's tele.
Whatever, I'm just talking to hear my own voice; it's obviously a very pretty guitar.
@mescalineeyes: Hey mescanlineeyes, I'm really happy for your post about rickenbacker being the best guitar company, but Gretsh's are the best guitars of all time.
Mad Catz has a long history of making controllers and accessories that have a short life span. Either breaking or falling apart, i'm sure it'll be no different with this expensive peripheral.
@deathzerozx:
Actually, I had the Fender Precision Bass that they came out with, and it's far better than any Rock Band instrument that I've had so far. I've had it since it came out, and it still works better than any of my Rock Band 2 instruments.
I actually just played on this last night. I really liked the fretboard buttons. They are much easier to press and slide your fingers across. I really didn't like the touch sensitive button. I kept hitting it accidentally between songs which would put me into lefty mode without me realizing it.
For 110 you can get a piece of crap guitar that probably can't keep tune. If you want a good starter guitar, you are paying at least 300-350. Plus you need an amp and cables.
If you are dropping just 100 bucks, might as well be this.

A Squier bullet strat is about that much and though I don't own one (Ltd or ESP for me) it still stayed in tune better than my ol' starter Ibanez Gio which cost considerably more. Then again, I may have had a fubar bridge.
@meowmixx: I really don't like this argument. Because it is pointless and ridiculous.
A real guitar won't play Rock Band. So what is really your point? If someone wanted to play real guitar, I'm sure they know how much money they could spend to play it.
@Archaotic: Yeah, I'm with you on the GH2 axe. I like the way the buttons feel, on some of the newer controllers I have a harder time feeling if I've switched to a different button or not.
That having been said, this thing looks pretty freaking sweet.
@Slothboy: The old GH2 guitar is ROBUST, too. My original Rock Band guitar wore out within a month. The GH2 guitar, I've had since the game hit the 360 and it works BETTER than the replacement guitar Harmonix sent me.

I play real guitar and bass, have been for over 5 years.
I also enjoy a good game of rock band with the friends.
Why don't you lay off?
And no, you can't buy a guitar anywhere in the realm of playable for that price.

Wow, my friend just got one as well, funny. He didn't get it for free of course, lucky friend of yours!
I was of course pointing at new guitars on the market, as you can't find anything that good for under $150 or so.

but this guitar looks very nice with the bigsby tailpiece and all that chrome
