@etchasketchist: They're the athletes from the first commercial. Michael Phelps, Tony Hawk and gang. Apparently, they didn't feel like dishing out that money all over again.
for a minute there i almost shit my pants because that looked like my house so much. i really thought ny house blew up until i realized i was still alive.
@Rompehamster: I'm heading to them this summer. It'll be my fourth time in five years seeing them live. Hetfield's lost his voice though so I'm only going for the music.
It felt a lot like those DARE officers from elementary school who were always 'hip' and 'cool' like us. Or at least they kept trying to tell us they were.
@Jolan: i have the sudden struggle within to seek and destroy you for starting this thread, but i guess humor is in the eye of the beholder, so i wont act so holier then thou.
I am saddened to hear that Lips is getting all the CCR love and RB hasn't done anything with them since the cover of Fortunate Son so many moons ago.
Also: Now if only Guitar Hero World Tour would get in on the act. *eyes Activision*
Why would Activision support such an inferior product when they've got the hot new Guitar Hero Metallica in stores. It's all about that Guitar Hero title n-
*Kotick whispers in ear*
Oh I'm sorry. I've just been informed that Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits is the new hotness. Activision will no longer be supporting the obsolete Guitar Hero Metallica in favor of their upcoming major release.
Seriously? Wireless mics has been the reason you've been holding out on buying the best music game on the market? Don't even bother, then. I don't think you'd appreciate it if you bought it.
@akilshohen: Not sure how how lips works, but one thing i don't like about games like guitar hero or rockband is that there doesn't seem to be an easy way (or any way?) to up or low the pitch of the songs, which makes sing them harder than it should.
I would really like to see that feature implemented on rockband or guitar hero for next iterations, since it would make the game way more enjoyable for me and i belive many, like karaoke machines or... well basicly any music software.
@zgreenwell: Yup, that's what i do, but it would be better being able to change the pitch of the songs a couple of tones up or down just so they could actually enter on people's range.
It's a bit uncomfortable to be dancing around with your voice in songs that are too high for your pitch but too low to sing them an octave bellow. That's what makes songs harder than they should be.
I know is not gonna happen on this year of games but it would be pretty cool if they considered this for the next games.
This is actually a pretty smart combination, as the kinds of people who would recognize those four would be the same types of people who'd be interested in Metallica content.
Matt Pinfield did the voice over for this commericial? Hasn't he gone on record and said that he loathes Metallica above all other? Oh well, chalk it up to C.R.E.A.M. I guess.
With regards to the game....'euphoric' is the only way to describe my emotions while playing.
My import shop in Akiba actually had it for sale on Saturday, I then faked sick to get out of work, and called my girlfriend and told her that I was stuck at work and was going to be 30 minutes for our date...just so I would have time to pick it up.
I probably played Creeping Death, Master of Puppets, and Seek & Destroy 10x each. And at one point I played through Nothing Else Matters 3x in a row....I was just in sheer awe that this game actually exists, and I was actually playing it.
And I know that Lars has a reputation of being called a 'douche bag', but they did a bang up job with his motion capture. Watching those polygons play the drums, I was just like 'yeah...thats Lars.'

Waiting for "Guitar Hero: SLAYER"

There's a Slayer song in GH: Metallica, and GH3, but that song sucks balls. And yes, I can beat it on expert, it just sucks.

But why?
People enjoy it.

It's braindead repetitive exploitation of someone else's work without even honoring the people who actually created it.
Not to mention they milk it worse than Disney milks Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers.
04/05/09
Now i must patiently wait.
But at least the Mayhem Fest this summer will help me keep my sanity.
