If only it wasn't so based on the latest Batman movie...
Anyway, My favorite comic based game would have to be The death and return of Superman for snes.
@Jadakra: Based on the movie? I don't see it. They took some liberties on the character design, but it seems to have more in common with Morrison's Arkham Asylum (correct me if I'm wrong and it's not Morrison, I'm too lazy to look it up) than Dark Knight. Oracle plays a semi-integral part, and she seems to be a comics mainstray. Zsaszz is a comics exclusive. Even the Riddler stuff harkens more to a Frank Miller-esque Year One than Dark Knight.
@thaKingRocka: You don't need superpowers to be a superhero. You want to get technical, superman isn't a superhero either, when he's on his home planet. Green lantern is just a regular shmoe without his ring. And iron man doesn't have crap without his suit. So in this case, bat man is actually more of a superhero, because even if you take his belt away he still has great physical conditioning and detective skills.
/fanboy off
@bobafett356: Put Batman on Krypton and odds are he dies. Superman wins...except in game format, where he dies an ignoble death regardless of the format.
Can anyone say moneyhat PR bullshit? This is exactly the type of publicity this game does not need. It's an excellent game and all shit like this does is tarnish it.

@Snappywave: Subtitle option for the Deaf please: I think MVC is shit and the Spider-Man games are some of the best, but that's just me. My brother got Batman:AA, though, so I'm looking forward to beating ass while listening to Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill.
I agree the Guiness records are losing all meaning with records being set for most people wearing ______ sunglasses at one time. I can't take them srsly anymore ;)
How dare the austere keeper of records like World's Fattest Twins and Most Billiard Balls in Mouth cheapen itself to such mercenary advertising interests!
@shrikedoa: Hell yes.Hearty Clicky for you. Guinness became irrelevant ever since they diluted their product. They're just another JD Power plaque on a wall in some rich guy's office now.
@L___E___T: Oh really? So, you're saying it's natural to launch a bogus new "best rated superhero video game" at approximately the same time the winner of such an award is launched, despite said bogus category existing long before the current winner/namesake? It's not conspiracy when dubious actions are legitimately questioned by rational means. The only explanation for such behavior is a PR stunt.
Better than the VS series? Better than Ultimate Destruction? Better than Viewtiful Joe? Better than Turtles in Time? Better than that one Spider Man game from the late 90s?
VS: good games, some of my favorite arcade memories - horribly unbalanced.
Ultimate Destruction: Great Hulk game, somewhat shallow in terms of what your doing. SMASH JUMP POUND SMASH ARGHHHHHHH
Viewtiful Joe: Not based on a Superhero; not even inspired by superheroes as much as B-level action movie conventions.
Turtles in Time: A sidescrolling brawler that is shallow, turn off the nostalgia and what do you have? And there were better brawlers after and before it.
Spider-Man of the late 90s: OK games, again it does some things well but is relatively shallow for even it's time.
Batman Arkham Asylum = a great game even compared to other games.
