    In reply to Rock Band Next Week: Green Day And Mayhem Music
    How does this work, exactly? Green Day has made a huge deal about how they don't censor their music and how they won't allow Wal-Mart to sell their music, because Wal-Mart cuts out swear words. Rock Band does the same thing (which drives me NUTS). So how are these songs (I know East Jesus Nowhere has a few choice words) being released on Rock Band?

    So they finally add some Manson... and it's "Disposable Teens". Oy. (Not that I don't like the song, but there's a brand new album out that's barely been promoted at all, and RB would be the perfect medium to fix that particular marketing floible)

    @ShaggE wants to join the Egg Council.: Are you referring to "Eat Me, Drink Me" or is their something newer? That one was just...well, I don't even listen to their old stuff after I heard that crap.

    @KaneTaker: I'm a few hours late to respond, but in case you read it: no. His new album is "The High End of Low". And it's MUCH better than "Eat Me Drink Me". It has a touch of all of his past era's sounds, along with a few new influences.

    @GodxIsxInTheTV: If it helps, Twiggy's back, and it shows. :D

    21 Guns has really been growing on me. If I had some spare money right now, I'd get it.

    I don't though.

    Only lame Green Day songs, this sucks. They should've gone with Green Day's old music, before American Idiot (AKA before they started sucking). I mean, they have 5 really good/great albums(and 1 not too bad album) to chose from... Why did they choose songs from one of their 2 really bad albums?

    @jobocan:

    Green Day had Kerplunk. Best album they did. Then they had a bunch of shitty major label albums with a few great songs and tons of filler. Than they had American Idiot -- which was their first truly good record since Kerplunk.

    I guess what I'm saying is this: To each their own.

    I'm a Rock Band fan, almost to the point of annoyance towards others.

    However, exclusivity of Green Day's catalog and in general is a complete crock. I'll say it about Activision and I'll say it concerning Harmonix. The practice does nothing but rip off gamers who prefer a different philosophy to the same genre of gaming.

    You probably think MS should let Sony market Master Chief, and Nintendo should have a Ratchet and Clank game too, huh? It's business man. Every business needs incentives for why consumers should buy their product over someone else's. McDonald's has the Big Mac and Burger King has the Whopper. Don't cry yourself to sleep because you have to go to both places to get what you want. It's life, it's always been that way. Deal with it.

    @Gyaruson: Your comparison falls a bit short. Comparing 1st/2nd party exclusive characters created specifically for their respective company/platform and catalogs of music created before these games even existed doesn't quite make sense.

    @A-Rude-Hero:

    Okay, so my examples were a tad extreme. But the principal still applies. It's a competition. Each company is trying to bring something to the table that the other company doesn't have. Being able to say, "You can only play Green Day, AC/DC and Guns 'N Roses on Rock Band is quite the selling point. I also recall Guitar Hero saying the same thing about The Eagles, Van Halen, and Ozzy. They each have their own distinct draws, and whichever suits your desires most is who's gonna win. But until you decide the companies are gonna do everything the can to convince you that their product is better. This is just one way of doing so.
