I wish that sites would keep the video size the same as a PSP screen to make a more fair judgment with. However, that still looked great, even being twice as big as it should have been.
Maybe this is nit picking, but the post is misleading in saying that it features "nothing but real gameplay", as it features choice snippets of replay from multiple races and no actual gameplay from the player's perspective.
It's pretty, it runs smoothly and the music is great, but it's still a replay. I'm certain the game delivers on many levels but it's still a stretch to call to call this a gameplay trailer.
@badasscat: I understand where you're coming from but my personal worries for the PSP are things such as how responsive the game will be when controlled on the PSP's single analog stick. Will my actual race be a chain of jumpy starts and stops or will I be able to glide through like the replays shown?
It'd love to see someone play the game, with both the player and the device captured on video.
Saying that the trailer alleviates any worries about how the in-game engine handles visuals is correct, though. I'm a developer myself and had no concerns in this department, but I still want to find out how it plays, and how practical issues like LCD lag (black-to-bright blurs *really* bad on the PSP-1000/2000) affect the experience.
It's amazing how graphically amazing this looks. Some of these devs can really push the PSP and shouldn't see the need to "go easy," but then I remember this is the "hardcore" crowd we're talking about (-_-)

@Komrade Kayce: Frankly, I wish I could get starred just so I could see the unapproved comments. Hell, I wouldn't even need featured status, it's just the fact that the phantom replies and the presence of unknowable net messages is driving me mad.
@(Zombie) Goldwings: For some reason Kotaku's been all porned out lately. We need to cut this shit out, or the few chicks that hang out here will leave.
Quick- I hear one coming! Someone take down that picture.
@Bialia: Double post. Sorry. And as a guy, and also a long time Kotaku reader, yes it is annoying as hell. Spam is bad when it's in the can by itself, but adding gross shit unto it just makes it horrendous.
@Bialia: I actually have a dummy email account I spam into different places just to catch weird junk mail. Seriously. When people withhold something from me (especially secrets or data) I just want to know it more and more.
Unapproved commenter. Like, if you're a new account, you have to post a few things of substance (it helps if a Star dude clicks on the green checkmark beside your name and then the thumbs up) before everyone can see your comments, not just the star people.
It helps weed out garbage. If we don't respond to it, only we see it.
And all that was posted was your generic message board spam. Here is a hentai site. Here is a hentai picture.
I already posted a way to go find that stuff, courtesy of our friends at 4chan. :P
@Komrade Kayce: And wat happens if a Star dude promotes a spammer to higher status and all of a sudden everyone of us sees hentai and nasty pictures. Can Kotaku know who did it? Will the member be de-starred?
It shows it right under a promoted comment who promoted/approved it. I would guess yes, goodbye star. Possibly goodbye account. Theres no reason to be posting NSFW pictures, or forcing people to see them without at least making them in a link and labeling 'nsfw'.
Sold. My PSP needs the workout for something other than Monster Hunter and PSX emulation anyways.
I'd honestly be willing to pick up a Go! and just this game if they can prove to me the battery life is much much better. Gran Turismo/Forza are some of the few games that manages to eat up hundreds of hours with me, so much so that if I got the Go, I might leave the DS at home. Gasp!
@Neo-Senku: The World's Finest Pervert: Well the issue for battery life will be properly tested when it's out. I mean after all it was the UMD reading/playing that did eat up power.
Though I am curious did games before Dissidia have 'install on memory card' as an option. I can't remember many that had.
@Komrade Kayce: The GT formula has worn thin for me. Nothing more then car porn. Pretty to look at and touch yourself to, but not a lot of emotion. Mostly due to the lack of car damage and the A.I. that just follows rigid lines instead of actively trying to fight for first. I can accept the lack of damage, but if they haven't improved the A.I. then fuck it.
Its all about the car upgrading and customization. Riddle me this, batman, what handheld car sim, 'car porn' or otherwise, will even come close to what you could get from this?
If there is something better, I will go buy it. Keeping in mind that I have little to no interest in GT5 since I'm all Forza.
@Komrade Kayce: It's just what I heard. I can't find any info on it either way, so don't take my word for it. I imagine it'll have tuning, at the very least.
This is a great bundle. I like how they are giving movie vouchers instead of packaging a specific game. It's better to give the customer the option to pick what they want, while at the same time getting them to check out PSN. Quite smart actually.
When the Go was announced I was all for it. But I've decided that I'd rather have the option to have UMD's and DL, so I'm actually going tomorrow to pick up the Dissidia pack (along with a new PS3 slim). I would wait for this pack, but it's a bit of a wait, and the system is the same, and I wanted both games anyway, so I'll just stick with the Dissidia pack.
I'm all for the Go. I think it's great to offer this new version along with the 3000, specifically for those who are ready to make a jump to DL only. It's a sharp looking system, and surely a sign of where Sony will go when the actual PSP2 is launched.
Hmm, I was worried they were going to do a PSPGo bundle for GT, but my PSPPhat is getting a little old and i was looking at getting a 300 when/if it drops in price when the Go launches. But now I think I might just get this, looks like a great idea.
@BubbleF**kingBuddy: It still boggles my mind that people think that they are, or that the Go is a completely new and different system.
It's another option. Sony isn't competing with itself, devs aren't making "Go only" games, You don't have to upgrade, nor do people have to worry about UMD's not being made.
Sony has been very clear from the very beginning as to what they are doing. I fail to see what all the confusion is.

It's Gran Turismo. You know what the actual gameplay is like. All you need to know is how the graphics hold up on the PSP.
