I want this so much... Hope they give you something more to play with and test out at some point... 5 seconds sounds short, but this was basically a video not a demo. Boo Nintendo. Boo. Give the journalists a real demo so they can relay to us the awesome-ness that is Golden Sun DS.
Please, for the love of Christ, tell me that Camelot has fixed that Final Fantasy 1-esque method of attack...whereby any character assigned to a creature killed before their turn lost their action instead of performing it on remaining enemies.
Apart from that apprehension I'm very excited for this title.
I'm torn on this. I've been begging for a sequel to Golden Sun ever since I beat The Lost Age. It was a great RPG, even though it pales in comparison to Square's better efforts. I think I spent a combined 80 or 90 hours on the two games put together. I finished everything; every sidequest, every hidden boss, every secret summon...even friggin' Deadbeard. So as soon as they announced this sequel yesterday, I was cheering.
Despite this, after the initial honeymoon period of the announement wore off, I just realized that I hate the graphics. I can't stand 3D games on the DS, they make me angry just to look at them. So I really don't know what to do; I want to play this, but at the same time I know I'm going to be pissed at the visuals the entire time. Damn it. =/
@Archaotic: I look at it this way. A full 3D handheld Golden Sun is just one step away from full console version which would be absolutely awesome. Still, any new Golden Sun is reason to smile all day long.
@curly haired boy: The music does sound good; Sakuraba's work on Golden Sun 1 and 2 was quite awesome, though Valkyrie Profile is still his best soundtrack.
I don't really think polish will change the fact that it's ugly, un-detailed 3D with chunky character models though...I'd rather they just use detailed 2D sprites, like Chrono Trigger. The FF remakes just piss me off too.
@Archaotic: I can't stand it either, but because I love the series and have so many fond memories for it, I'll suck it up and play the thing.
Graphics shouldn't matter anyway so as long as it's fun.
BTW noobie Dullahan > Deadbeard. Deadbeard was like fighting a fanboy who can't speak or write compared to Dullahan. Unless you failed like so many others have. I know I did... 3 times!
(DEAD) Goldwings - Remembered for his bravery and heroism... xD was starred

@Goldwings: Knows the reason for his avatar pic.: I beat Dullahan too, I actually remembered him the MOMENT I clicked "submit", but it was too late to change the post, haha. That fight took FOREVER. It required so much pre-planning it was insane.
Graphics SHOULDN'T matter, but if I spend every waking minute of gameplay cursing the visuals, I won't be having fun, sad to say. =/
@Buttah: The Delicious One: Yeah, I'm a little surprised the sequel ended up being on DS; the guys from Camelot had stated they wanted to make a Wii Golden Sun sequel. I guess this is Nintendo's way of testing to see if the franchise is still viable before taking the plunge.
@Archaotic: I hear that. Why in God's name so many devs try to do 3D on the DS when it looks like complete shit is beyond me. And I felt the same exact way for New Super Mario Bros. Wii game. I was excited about it when it was announced but I don't think I'm going to buy it unless I can get it really cheap or used. It looks awful. I mean shit, Super Mario World looks infinitely better.
@Đipic: I'm just skipping (or renting) NSMB Wii. Galaxy 2 is where it's at for me. Seriously, it's not too much to ask for a little effort when it comes to presentation. Just because the Wii and DS can't do HD doesn't mean developers don't have to put any effort into the graphics.
@SpishackCola posts comments Like A Boss: I just find it very hard to take DS 3D seriously when I have a PSP that can output 3D graphics that are literally orders of magnitude more impressive. It's like choosing to play an Atari game when there's an SNES game of the same genre available at the same time.
I'll probably still end up playing it at some point in the future, but it's going to be hard. Really hard.
@Archaotic: You can't stand 3D on the DS? it makes you angry? What about Metroid Hunters then? What about Dragon Warrior Monsters Joker? Phantom Hourglass? Star Fox Assualt? Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time? Yes the DS can do 3D quite well. You say this every single article and its not true.
@Ted: The guy with red hair in the green coat actually looks to be a physical based Jupiter Adept. He's wielding an axe that has lightning coming from it.
@Ted: They haven't told us the exact amount of time after the end of TLA that this takes place. We were only told that it was their descendants which could be anything from children to great great etc. grandchildren.
Regardless, no way they had kids that grew up that fast in two years. :P
Also, I believe the early stuff for the first Golden Sun only showed Isaac, Mia, and Garet. So there will probably be a fourth character, especially considering you never started with a full group.

Portable series need to stay that way. Being able to whip out a GBA anywhere and just start playing golden sun was awesome.

That would be cool.

But I hated both the Jupiter adepts in the series, so maybe it is good.

How could you hate a character with virtually no HP or Defense who somehow attracts 90% of all enemy attacks?

But I see what you mean. And then that'd mean why is there no Mars adept?
