Thanks for the confirmation Scazza.
Just gonna pick it up for the PC still now. This is unfortunate, considering how well they did on Oblivion for both consoles and PC.

The cool kids can hate EA all they want, but at least their recent high-profile releases (Burnout Paradise, Dead Space and, if the demo is any indication, Mirror's Edge) show an equal amount of care and commitment to both platforms.
Fallout 3 would probably have benefitted from an early 2009 release. Damned holiday rush sending half-assed products out of the door.

It's not the PS3's fault that Bethesda doesn't know you should lead on PS3 to optimise *that* code *and* optimise the Xbox 360 port - it'll be even better than an Xbox 360 lead.
Until those bastards release a patch, I'm not buying.
These are SIMPLE glitches and bugs that they SHOULD'VE picked up. They didn't. And that tells us more about their incompetence than PS3's difficulty, especially when PS3 produces technical marvels year in and year out.

Because it's total flamebait which has been the order of the day at kotaku lately. Not cool.

It needs patches on all 3 platforms. Massive problems are being reported across the board.

PS3 is a media machine that happens to play games.
Buy accordingly.

yeah...right.
We haven't had a 'media machine that plays games!' since the CD-i and the 3DO.
Its a game platform, its always been one, always will be one. Its just often got the short end of the stick as far as multiplatform releases.
Sony's first/second party stuff has been amazing. Show me another mediaplayer than can deliver the likes of MGS4, LBP, or Resistance 2.

I was also pleasantly surprised at the low system requirements: I'm running the game on Ultra High with a rig that's far from top-of-the-line.
It's all the more a shame that, despite my being a huge Fallout fan, I simply can't get into the game. To be honest, I don't even think I'll ever go back to it. The game is amazing in many ways (I love how every situation can be solved in a myriad of ways), but the game overall - and the characters populating it - leaves me completely cold. I just don't care about anything that goes on - which bugs me to no end, because I feel like I should enjoy my time in the Wasteland. Sadly, I don't.
It's a very similar feeling to what I had with Oblivion (even though Fallout 3 is leaps and bounds better). And with Fable II due in my mail box within the next few days, my vault dweller will probably never find her father...

People wouldn't accept a brand-new car that had scratches and dents on the outside, or if it randomly stopped running during operation. I know, software is a different animal, but still. There's too much of a rush these days to release games by certain dates.

Oh, and the damn mutants are eating my lunch.

The studio just can't ship a game that isn't bugged and glitched to hell. Period.
