Like any game that has a yearly deadline, sometimes there might be a lack of polish. We've collected 10 videos of glitches from EA's newest outing (Beware: foul language).

There are some ridiculous sights to see here. Some players fall through the ground, others have the ball thrown right through them. There's even an instance of one guy having his own teammate tackle him! We present to you some of the funniest and strangest glitches in Madden 10, thanks to players who uploaded them to YouTube.

<![CDATA[Gatling Glitch > Rocket Jump]]> Here's a trick for those rompin' and stompin' with zombies this Christmas: A physics glitch that enables you to charge up a gatling gun and launch yourself across the map in Left 4 Dead.

Basically, wham on the gun like Engineer fast-building a sentry gun in Team Fortress 2, and when you think you've hit it enough, jump aboard and it'll launch you in the direction it is aimed. The distance seems to correlate to the amount of whams. In the second attempt, that guy pumps it up like a kid overcharging his Red Ryder dawg-plunker and sails clean over the crescendo point. Looks useful, or fun. Or both. Or neither.

<![CDATA[Tomb Raider Glitch Ruins Wii Adventures]]> Oh Eidos. It's just one thing after another, isn't it?

Fresh off the back of what is quickly becoming known as Don't Publish Negative Scores Until We Say You Can-gate, a glitch has been discovered in the Wii version of Tomb Raider: Underworld that makes it impossible to finish the game.

In the video clip (see after the jump) you will notice Lara negotiating the usual assortment of stone pillars and deadly drops in the Coastal Thailand section of the game. A leap of faith is required to grab a pole, which turns out to be a lever that lowers the corpse-robbing society girl to ground level and opens a convenient passageway... Except on the Wii, where the lever sometimes doesn't exist.

Eidos recommends reverting to earlier saves and trying again and has published a set of saves that can be plonked on an SD card to work around the problem if you are really stuck.

All the same, bad show old girl.

<![CDATA[Fable II Abbot Glitch Now a "Matter of Priority"]]> There have been numerous tips of glitches coming to our inbox, and it's hard to keep track of what's been reported and what hasn't, and then how serious the stuff is. But Lionhead is aware of them, and is responding. And the notorious Monks Quest glitch is being pursued "as a matter of priority." According to someone speaking for the studio, on Lionhead's official forums:

"If you have already encountered this issue, there is unfortunately no work-around at this time, but we will keep you updated on any progress made. [...] If you want to avoid this issue, when you go to the Abbot for the first time don't run away and leave the region after he has started talking to you. Listen to him, let him finish his cut-scene, and then you are free to do what you wish."

They are also aware of a multiplayer bug that can strip characters of everything, reducing them to level zero with no gold, spells, etc. A highly specific set of things has to happen for it to wipe you out though. Lionhead knows, and responded with this:

We are indeed reading and have logged this as a bug in our database. I was helping one of the dev's fix this earlier so hopefully it will make its way into a title update very soon. Huge apologies for this one, it's a real shame it wasn't caught by test and I'm sorry that you lost your character's progress. This bug only happens when you select a save game in the couch co-op screen straight after childhood so don't worry about this happening elsewhere in the game. Again, sorry on behalf of the Lionhead guys...

It's good that they're paying attention and actually responding, where some others might not acknowledge glitch threads in their official forums for days or weeks. And I know that a lot goes into the creation and testing of a game. But the number of freezes/glitches/wipeouts for such a major title doesn't speak well of the QA process. Here's hoping they catch all of it in their next update.

<![CDATA[Rock Band 2 Glitch Wipes Out Bands?]]> Lots of people on the Rock Band forums are complaining of a pretty heinous multiplayer glitch in Rock Band 2, which seems to only affect the 360 version. In a nutshell, it strikes bands with Live Enabled gamers as the primary account, and non-Live enabled as the secondary. The glitch wipes out your band in tour mode, and forces you to start over. Particularly aggravating is that it seems to wait until you're a ways into the game.

Sifting through a 15-page thread I can't seem to find any response from Harmonix on this, as to whether the glitch is known, what the problem is, if there's a workaround, if a patch is coming, what. Now, I don't have a direct line to Harmonix — I don't even have the game here — and besides, it's a Saturday anyway. But yeah, if this problem is as people describe it, that's pretty goddamn aggravating and they're owed an explanation, or at least an acknowledgment of the issue. So how about it, Harmonix.

Email from a tipster explaining the glitch is on the jump.

Writes Justin B.

A number of Rock Band 2 players are experiencing an error in tour mode where at some point through the game (it seems people most often make substantial progress and are just prior to the airplane award) they start the game and find they cannot access their band. Your character and your band do not show up in the selection screen, but unlocked songs are still available. If you enter quickplay mode your character is deleted. For some reason your band will show up in online mode, but when you access it you get a message stating "looking for band leader" that never resolves and you have to back out. In the game options screen, when you try to load your band, or modify it in any way, you can still see the band but your only option is to delete it. This error seems to becoming more and more common, and its incredibly frustrating because your only option is to create a brand new band and start your tour all over again.

The common threads seem to be the use of an X-box Live Enabled primary account and a non X-box Live Enabled secondary account. To form your band. This makes me believe this will be an X-box 360 error and not anything that would effect the Wii or PS3 versions.

<![CDATA[Shit. Pub Games is Patched ... Or is It?]]> The parade of bloviation about the Fable II Pub Games exploit just will not die down. Of course, first Peter Molyneux said that cheaters would be "in for a surprise" if they tried to transfer their ill-gotten wealth to Fable II, once it releases. Then a couple sites spotted something curious in IGN's Fable II preview, in which Molyneux implied the glitch was actually a deliberate inclusion. Now Lionhead Studios has put out a patch, although someone (above) is claiming that drive maintenance will reactivate the exploit.

First, Molyneux and the "deliberate glitch" idea. The original phrasing of IGN's sentence about it: "Just be warned. Molyneux has said that the cheat was no accident and that those who used it to earn their money will be in for a surprise." was rewritten to "Just be warned. Molyneux has said that they are well aware of the cheat and that those who used it to earn their money will be in for a surprise."

That sounds about right. The idea that this particular glitch would be included is kind of laughable, even if you want to think of it in the choose good/choose evil context of the Fable franchise. Isn't that a little subtle, anyway? Well, the whole thing's was patched as of Thursday evening, resetting the leaderboards, so it's all moot — or is it?

See the annotation in the video above? Someone's now saying you can continue to use the gold exploit by entering the "perform maintenance on storage devices" code (at the storage device tab in System, highlight a drive, enter Y X X LB RB X X). But it doesn't really matter for me because I never got above the minimum bet limit in Fortune's Tower, the game where the gold exploit works.

Disclaimer: Although performing storage device maintenance sounds like an innocent-enough thing to do, I have no idea if this procedure, in combination with whatever's in the patch, actually does nasty shit to Fable II Pub Games, renders it inoperable, or anything else you don't want done. In the end, you're getting cheat tips off a YouTube video, be warned. However, if someone does get it to work, let me know in the comments.

<![CDATA[A Gallery of Madden Glitch Goodness]]>
Ah, football and August — fresh cut grass, training camp, two-a-days, puking, pre-season football, the release of Madden and, about 3 seconds after that, the reports of the first Madden glitches. Unlike last year's bugfest, it's been reasonably quiet so far. But paging through YouTube on Friday I found a plethora of classic, often hilarious Madden glitches, plus one of him perhaps subconsciously drawing a wiener on the telestrator in real life.

We lead off with the Madden Ambulance Montage (love that title card) above. You can watch the health care professionals (oath: "First, do harm.") in John Madden Football '92 cut a path of destruction through the uninjured players on their way to pick up the crumpled halfback — with slo-mo replay, too. Many more clips after the jump.

A montage of late hits from Madden '96. *Crackle* ... "Oh no, there's a man down." Pat Summerall sounds terribly upset by the wanton 16-bit violence he's just witnessed.

Playing in the Super Bowl vs. the Colts, the Bears' Rex Grossman gets hit so hard he shits a football.

In the pocket, Drew Bledsoe was such a statue he had pigeon shit on his shoulder pads. Yet here he uncorks a Frank Tarkenton-on-meth rollout and hits Terrell Owens for an unorthodox score. Bonus points for the Harry Kalas impersonation.

Vince Young Matt Leinart (coulda sworn I was looking at the Titans) back to pass ... Saints free safety Josh Bullocks has a bead on it and FUCK YOU FATHER KARRAS ... YOU'RE GOING TO DIE ... ALL OF YOU /vomits ... also, Merton Hanks, you can't touch this.

The Ravens' Kyle Boller has one hell of an arm, I'd say. Stick with it, long delay at the beginning while the guy sets up his camera.

You know, when Donovan McNabb puts one up in the air like that, it's probably going for 6 in the other direction.

Not from the game, but I couldn't resist. Madden gets all Freudian in last year's Giants-Cowboys game.

<![CDATA[Big Daddy Is Happy To See You]]> An ambitious title like BioShock is bound to have its fair share of glitches, but Big Daddy here doesn't care about that. Shane over at Aeropause wasn't satisfied to leave his suggestions for improvements to the inevitable sequel to Gears of War in the Epic Games forums. He's bringing them out in the open for everyone to see! Shane has listed seven major issues that he would like to see fixed including better weapon balance, connection issues and those annoying ranked match quitters.

I've never in my life seen so many quitters in one place. If people don't like the ranked match they're playing, they'll quit, leaving you and your teammates high and dry. This really rubs me the wrong way, so let's let people join a ranked game in progress like the non-ranked games - please!

There's no doubt that Gears of War has a hell of a lot going for it, but certainly there is plenty of room for improvement, glitches not withstanding. Check out Shane's list then head back here and chime in on what you think could be improved in the game that many gamers have called "perfect" and others have deemed "worthless derivative tripe."

<![CDATA[Xbox 360 Wireless Headset Conflicts With Older Controllers?]]>

This video illustrates an issue some Xbox 360 owners are experiencing when using their original Xbox 360 wireless controllers alongside the recently released wireless headset. Anyone out there in Kotakuland running into this problem? The official Xbox forums are rife with complaints about buggy behavior with the new accessory, but we're not sure how widespread this may be. Hopefully MS is working on a solution for those affected.

Thanks for the info, Ben.

<![CDATA[Encyclopedia of Halo 2 Multiplayer Glitches]]> We've all been in that situation in Halo 2 deathmatch, running around on a killing spree, feeling like jade shimmering gods, when all of a sudden sniper bullets will start raining down from the heavens. Who is that asshole countergravitationally skating across the sky box, killing everyone with impugnity? Jesus? Some no good hacker? And more importantly, how the heck do I get up there to pull the same low down trick?

Well, good news. Via Cathode Tan, we discovered this excellent resource for exploting Halo 2's many, MANY architectural glitches. It is apparently possible to get to the top of any level and snipe away and these guys have videos to prove it.

Who the heck spends the time to figure these things out anyway?
