After giving you Lucille Bliss, also the voice of Smurfette, as one of the voices for Princess Daphne in the game, we asked for the second. The correct answer was Vera Pacheco, also known as Vera Lanpher, Vera Lanpher-Pacheco, or Vera Day. We accepted any of those four as correct responses.

Pacheco was actually the head of assistant animators for the project, which until it brought in Bliss, used only one other professional voice: the narrator of the title sequence. Sound engineer Dan Molina supplied the voice of Dirk the Daring.

Thanks to EA Mobile for supplying the prize, and thanks to all who entered!

<![CDATA[Win a Blu-Ray Dragon's Lair Signed by the Game's Creators]]> Dragon's Lair is out on the iTunes App Store for five bucks, but if you don't have an iPhone or iPod Touch, the good folks at EA Mobile are providing an autographed, playable Blu-Ray copy that we're giving away.

Here's the lowdown on the swag up for grabs: It's a Blu-Ray version of the game, which you'll remember was a series of animated sequences that you successfully advanced by joystick or button. So that means not only is this playable on a PS3, it's playable on anything with Blu-Ray capability. It also features full 1080p bonus material. You can see all the info here.

The pot sweetener: the case is signed by Dragon's Lair creators: Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, John Pomeroy and Rick Dyer. Bluth was the lead animator, with artists Goldman and Pomeroy helping to create the game's signature visuals. Dyer was the president of Advanced Microcomputer Systems, and is credited with the concept that became the game, an eye-popping hit in the arcade days of 1983.

Now. Here's how we're gonna give this away. We'll ask a trivia question, and you must email its correct answer to kotakucontestATgmailDOTcom within the next 24 hours. DO NOT POST THE ANSWER IN THE COMMENTS. We will choose a winner at random from all the correct guesses.

Here's how to play.

1) Send your answer to kotakucontestATgmailDOTcom
2) The subject header of your message must include the words Dragon's Lair Contest. You should probably cut and paste those words to the subject header now.
3) Your answer must be received by 4 p.m. US Mountain time tomorrow, Sunday Dec. 12. 2009.
4) Your answer must be spelled correctly to be eligible.
5) Do not post the answer in the comments. Comment submissions are not eligible.

We'll pick a winner from the correct answers and, if it's you, we'll have to ask for your full name, address and phone number to have it shipped.

Alright here's the question:

Princess Daphne was in fact voiced by two women in the original Dragon's Lair. Lucille Bliss, the voice of Smurfette, was one. Who was the other?

Remember, correct answer, correct spelling, correct subject header. Thanks!

<![CDATA[17 Inches of Brutal Legend Up for Grabs [CORRECTED]]]> Only 1,000 of the Eddie Riggs Brütal Legend ceramic figures have been made, and Electronic Arts hasn't divulged just how to get one beyond getting lucky and winning it. And they're giving you just such an opportunity now.

Entering to win is simplicity itself:

Edit: Well, not when a sloppy job by yours truly fucks everything up. This version originally failed to include the link to the Official Brutal Legend site. That coupled with instruction No. 2 led a lot of people to believe that by commenting here, they were entering. Sorry, you're not. We have nothing to do with this contest. You need to go here to enter. My deepest apologies. - OSG

1) Go to the window, look outside, and verify that you are in the United States. If you're at a friend's house, look at your driver's license and make sure it has a U.S. address. If you're still not certain, call your parents and ask where you live.

2) Post a comment on this thread on the official Brütal Legend site. Note: You'll have to register a free account. That's how they'll find you.

3) That's it.

Electronic Arts will notify the lucky headbanger after one is randomly selected. For a closer look at the goods, check out this gallery.

<![CDATA[The Great Uncharted 2 Beta Giveaway]]> After giving out just a few PS3 beta codes for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves last week we were inundated with requests for more codes.

So Naughty Dog was kind enough to supply us with a few more, 300 more to be exact.

I've tried giving out beta codes in email, via Facebook and Twitter, in comments and none of that seems to work effectively. There are always people complaining or angry and really, this should be about having fun.

So, this time I've decided to bury the 300 beta codes in five old posts. Each of these mystery posts will have 60 codes added to the bottom of the post in bold. You just need to find them.

Here's a clue: In the original Uncharted the main character was hunting for the coffin of his namesake in hopes of finding this city of gold.

Good luck, and when you find a code make sure to hop back here and let us know. Don't forget to activate the code first though.

<![CDATA[Win Our Imported DSi]]> Don't forget! Time is ticking away. So if you want to enter our DSi contest, you better do it sooner rather than later. This DSi right here is up for grabs.

Ash picked this bad boy up in Osaka and then popped open the box and got it lousy with fingerprints. After tinkering with it enough to do a few posts about the thing, he boxed it up and sent it my way. It now sits safely on my desk, away from prying eyes, and Tristan's fingers. Click here to find out how to win it in my sadistic scavenger hunt.

Don't forget to send your answers to the correct place, deleting all of those entries sent directly to me can be tiring.

<![CDATA[The Number 23 Could Win You a Wii]]> In conjunction with the release of their new film, The Number 23, starring Jim Carrey, New Line Cinema is giving away a Wii and all you have to do to enter is send in your story about the number 23. In the spirit of the film, New Line is playing mysterious with the contest using this "cryptic" message to promote the contest.

Do you have a story about the number 23? Tell us for your chance to win a game console that begins with the 23rd letter in the alphabet. Good Luck.

The 23rd letter in the alphabet... hmmm... It was a tough nut to crack, but with the help of my Little Orphan Annie decoder I was able to deduce that they meant the letter "W" which then led me at first to the PS3. Then I realized that "P" wasn't "W" and made the logical leap that it must be the Wii.

So, write that great story about your 23rd birthday when you drank those 23 rum and cokes, got really drunk, went to Krystal and ate 23 tiny burgers and then spent the next 23 hours throwing up. If that doesn't win, I don't know what will.

<![CDATA[PS3 Giveaway: The First ?]]> OK, question number one:

Name the two robots that sit in toy-form on my desk at home. I'll be nice and give you a clue. You can see them, or at least part of them, in the background of an image I posted sometime this month.

Good luck and yes, I'm evil.

Check out the rules for our PS3 giveaway, if you're confused about this.

<![CDATA[Japanese Hold the Revolution Early]]> Rev2.jpg

It's no surprise that the Japanese will probably get to play with the Revolution before North Americans, but now they get a fake Revolution controller to play with while they wait.

The controller is available through Club Nintendo to platinum members. The catch? It's not a real Revolution controller, but instead a universal remote control for televisions. Insert your jokes about the Revolution controller not being functional as anything beyond a remote control in the comments section.

<![CDATA[And the Winners Are...]]>

I don't know what your thoughts are, but I think this has been the best contest to date. Not only were some of the entries worthy of blogging about, but the voting process was a ton of fun to watch.

Let me know what you think about the contest. Now without further ado, the winners:

With 24.7 percent of the vote 8-Bit Picasso Enters Blue Period, Cites "Need For Change" took first place with about a 75 vote lead.

I Am Blue took second place with 495 votes, or 21.5 percent of the total.

And with just 13 votes less and 20.9 percent of the vote, DS Cake took third.

I know I was going only giving prizes to the top three winners, but I decided to grab something out of my collection of swag to give to fourth place entry Katamari Damacy. I'll be sending him a Fire Emblem T-Shirt and Donkey Kong Country 2 long sleeve shirt. I know it's no DS, but it's better than nothing.

Thanks again to all of the entries and those that made the final cut, you guys all rock.

I'll be sending requests for mailing addresses out to the winners in a bit and then forwarding that info to Nintendo for them to ship the prizes.

<![CDATA[And the Finalists Are:]]> OK, so I had close to 300 entries and managed to cut that down to a mere eight. Problem is, I only have prizes for the top three places. So here's the deal. I've decided to let the readers decide who should get first, second and third place. I realize that there is the potential for spam voting and the like, but I'll be keeping an eye on things through the poll tracker and any sign of cheatyness could lead to immediate disqualification for an entry.

The voting ends Thursday. I'll announce the winners Friday and send the information to Nintendo for them to ship out the prizes.

Congratulations to the finalists and thanks to everyone who entered, these were really hard to pick through. There were plenty that I loved that just couldn't make the final cut. (I actually first narrowed it down to 30 or so entries.)

<![CDATA[Nintendo DS Cake]]>

The monthly contest is coming to a close and I've got some amazing entries. I don't usually like to post entries prior to the contest ending, but this one was so unbelievable I thought it deserved some early recognition.

I'm not saying it's going to win, but it sure as heck stands a real good chance of placing.

For those of you who don't read this site hourly, here's the run down of the contest goodies.

First place: An Electric Blue (boogie woogie woogie) DS, an E3 collector s skin for your DS featuring a reproduction of the signature of legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, a copy of Kirby: Canvas Curse and a copy of Meteos.

Second place: A Titanium DS, the skin and a copy of Kirby: Canvas Curse.

Third place: A Titanium DS and the skin.
