The clear winner in this price slashing bloodbath? YOU!!

If you're having difficult answering the question "What are you playing this weekend?" here's a list of what you could be playing for mere pennies on the dime. Steam's "Weekend Deal" features no less than ten of the top indie games from the past year, including Audiosurf, Blueberry Garden, Braid, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Darwinia, Everyday Shooter, Gish, Mr. Robot, The Path and World of Goo all for just $29.99 USD. Insane! I paid fifteen bucks for Braid alone!

If that's simply too much game for too much value for you to handle, Direct2Drive is similarly blowing out indie games, with the Best of Indie bundle. That features Zeno Clash, Defense Grid: The Awakening, Democracy 2, The Path and Cogs for just $17.75 USD. Bonkers, really.

Don't less these offers pass you by. Web servers are standing by to take your credit card information then send you data packets bursting with fun. Act now!

<![CDATA[Gish Creator Enters The Aether]]> Edmund McMillen, creator of the amazing indie computer game Gish, is back, and this time around he's exploring the far reaches of space and the inner depths of his soul, all at once. Aether is the story of a lonely boy who befriends a strange monster with a tongue capable of propelling them both into the stars and beyond. The team explores strange new planets, each containing a puzzle to solve while exploring McMillen's own childhood fears.

...its a simple experimental "Art" game about childhood and escapism. Its a very honest and personal project i've been a little worried about making public because its exposes a lot of the fears i had when i was a child and puts me in a vulnerable places. But i feel like there are some out there that can appreciate something honest that has a lot of heart.

It's a simple, yet endearing little game that becomes all the more interesting once you know where it's coming from. You can play the flash version here, or hit the link to download it to your Mac or PC.

<![CDATA[Gish 2 To Advance Blob Technology By, Like, Light Years]]>

The Unreal Engine may be pioneering Meat Cube Physics technology with the latest updates shown at GDC, but it can't match the authentic 2D blob calculating power of Whatever Is Powering Gish 2. With a staggering 128 (!!!) independent blob particles, we'll soon be experiencing the next generation of gelatinous mound rendering when Gish 2 ships. The best part about this clip is that it informs me that Gish 2 is in development. We're all winners!

<![CDATA[Steam Community Beta Due In July]]> Valve's plans for the Steam Community look to be gelling quite nicely as the company has announced that the new service which will allow PC gamers to "connect with friends and other gamers, create and join groups, and organize matches" will go beta this month. The service, which was announced in June, is free and works across all Steam-powered games.

In further Steam news, indie platformer Gish has been added to the service's library. What a great platform. There really is something for everyone. Now that I'm done being pleased as punch, I'm off to cash my Valve paycheck!
