EA should try putting Yoda and Hitmonlee in the rosters to broaden Madden's appeal. Also a pre-event parking ramp mini-game featuring giant banana peels.
This says Smash Bros. sold more then 3.2 million copies at the time the article was written. How is Smash Bros. not on the list if it sold more then all of those titles?
I mean, the revenue stream that list represents is insane! EA and LucasArts sold their titles across multiple, multiple platforms. (I totally saw The Force Unleashed for the ColecoVision the other day. True story.)
But the other 3 top games? Published by Nintendo on very specific Nintendo platforms, where they're pocketing all the goddamn money.
Shee-it boys and girls, it's time I bought some NTDOY while the getting's good.
@ara: Well a bigger portion of the continent is covered by Canada, and they aren't anywhere close to "barely half" of any sales I'd wager. You know...land area wise the continent is like 51% Canada, 49% USA. And Mexico!
I still can't get over why anyone, at all, ever, was interested in Force Unleashed. I mean, I can sell a worthless piece of shovelware a mile away and from the moment I heard of this game I was spraying Febreze on all my clothes to get the stink out. It's bad enough that it infected the otherwise awesome Soul Calibur 4, but people actually went out and sought this game? They wittingly paid money for it? I mean, fine...alot of us were suckered into buying SC4 with it infected with TFU, but even after that...this many people were still suckered into buying the actual product, with real money? Willingly? Like, it wasn't some trick? Like they thought they were buying GTA4 but when they opened the box it was TFU? Or something?
The 50,000 copies that were sold outside of the U.S. were probably not actually sold, but given away to anyone that went to that NFL game in England that could name 1 quarterback in the NFL.
Lol. So true. It's possible that there are American Ex-Patriots you know. I bet Canadians make up the greater percentage of those who bought it outside the U.S.
@Squamden: I know you were being facetious, but most folks don't know that Japan actually houses somewhere 'round 120,000,000 people. That's nearly twice the population of France in a little under half the available land.
'Course, then we have a country like Bangladesh, which houses 150,000,000 in a country that's about a third of the size of Japan.
@JustThisGuy: but comon, us Americans should know that there are more than 1.5 mil in a single major US city such as NYC, LA, Chicago. then make a single leap (or mini-step) of logic and speculate the pop. of Tokyo (12mil btw)...

Nevermind. Point is, USA doesn't "cover almost the entire continent".

Why? Seriously. Why?!
11/10/08
Because people just might like Star Wars, liked the demo, or just plain liked the game?
