I can't wait, but I hope Gearbox listens when I say Borderlands needs the following things
* An in game trading system
* A loot rolling system, so players can roll the dice to see who wins rare loot
* End game boss runs for extremely rare loot that require cooperative strategy and a balance of different characters to complete.
* A locker to store all of your extra guns
* More claptrap storage packs
* More bizarre and creative gun attributes (like the wave shotgun) that are randomly incorporated into the attributes of gun drops.
* Rare loot that you can win from defeating other players in competitive multiplayer duels/matches, etc.
The game is already awesome and addictive, but the addition of these things would put it over the top.
Have they announced all the details for this yet? Like what exactly the content will be? Hopefully a level cap raise, along with maybe a new weapon manufacturer or something. Just adding more content when you're maxed out is kinda blah.
@Mister Jack started the Save The Lombax Foundation: ah is that so, I didnt enjoy that game enough to get any DLC for it. I did however turn my game on before I traded it in and collected billions of dollars on my save. should I ever want to play again Ill be able to buy anything.
How good is borderlands people?
I love the fact that its co-op but I have like every fps thats been out on the ps3. Is the co-op split screen experience worth it? #borderlands
@alexdiaz: Borderlands is incredible. Co-op is verticle split screen... Multiplayer is totally fun... and single player is fun also. I love this game like I love my kids...
...o.k., maybe not that much. But pretty close. #borderlands
Ok, but I want more claptrap inventory slots, a better inventory trading system, and perhaps a locker in New Haven -- or on this Island of Dr. Ned -- where I can store my excess weapons. Oh yeah, and I want more crazy weapons, like that shotgun in the beginning of the game that fired in a wave like pattern. I like creative and crazy.
@DugDawg: I second the motion for more creative and crazy. It'd be nice if they had DLC packs that introduced new parts into the gun generation procedure.
I just want more borderlands in general. #borderlands
Damnit, now I'm kind of torn -- I was planning on trading in Borderlands towards the New Super Mario Bros. Wii (because I really didn't have much fun starting to play through it a second time and I don't care for the MP), but now I kind of want to hold on until the DLC. #borderlands
@Strangelove:
I still use the 12 gig. I make room for things, I organize, delete the games I don't ever play anymore. Pretty dam intense. I still manage for DLC like 64 Rock band songs, and both DLC for GTA4. #borderlands
Yeah, (and not to brag), I have about 400. It's literally my entire hard drive. I've had to delete multiple South Park/It's Always Sunny Episodes, Street Fighter II HD, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Soul Calibur, Trials HD, both Worms games, both Geometry Wars, and Assault Heroes to make room. (And I couldn't get Shadow Complex.)
I know you can buy the HD upgrade, but then I would have to re-download 400+ rock band songs (and I have since gotten rid of the Rock Band 1 disc, so I'd have to buy that again so I could get the songs again). That, and it's waaaayyyy to expensive, considering the ?60 gb? is standard now. Damnit. #borderlands
@Strangelove: When you buy the larger capacity 360 HDD it comes with a special cable that you use to transfer all of your data from your old HDD to the new one. So you wouldn't have any issue with re-downloading all your Rock Band tracks or finding another new copy of RB1 to get the transfer code again. #borderlands
I just glanced online, and the 120 gb hard drive that comes with the transfer cable is $150. Maybe $100 I could justify, but $150? That's half the price of an elite! #borderlands
@Strangelove: Yeah, I upgraded from the 20 gig to the 120 gig hard drive and it was a snap. Pop in a transfer disc, stick that cable between those two drives, run the thing, voila! Sell your old hard drive to cover some of the costs! Hooray! #borderlands
@Taggart6: I don't always drink beer, but when I do...: Failed promises? They never said there will be a variety in character models or vehicles. You are putting words in there mouths. #borderlands
@Stuart Bradley Newsom: ACtually it was and was in posted in kotaku. In fact, 2 models were being shown though only 1 made it to release. The vehicles were also going to incorporate a greater "tuning system" with which to customize your ride. #borderlands
@Taggart6: I don't always drink beer, but when I do...: not sur eif you saw, but you can also edit your inventory value in one of the ini files. i've been rocking 50 slots. been awesome in multiplayer, it's a shopping spree!! #borderlands
@cihx: Yeah I'm trying to avoid that ATM. All I'm playing with are basic thigns we should have control over like disabling the in0game mic, disabling mouse smoothing, and some other performance related issues. #borderlands
@Taggart6: I don't always drink beer, but when I do...: yeah it's so silly that we have to edit the ini for BASIC options. next time we'll have to run commands in dos to get games to work, and use floppy boot disks. *sigh* consoles are moonwalking us back into the 90's.. #borderlands
@Slagathorian: If you're definitely going to play with friends then the 360. It's perfectly alright in single-player in small bursts but online co-op is far more fun if you've got some good friends. It does seem a little easy in co-op though... #borderlands
@Slagathorian: If most of your friends are on the 360, then naturally, get the 360 version. Borderlands is a game that you have to/will want to play with friends.
You should have gotten the game when it first came out- it was only $39 at walmart, futureshop and bestbuy here. Oh well, maybe try the flea market! #borderlands
@Slagathorian: As I said, it's okay in single-player. Certainly more of a challenge. But it's a lot more fun when you've got a few of you. You get better loot too (enemies are tougher but I haven't had a problem) and you can always just carry on in single-player if you so wish.
It's also kinda handy if you have a friend who has gotten further than you and can pass on some great items they find. That's part of the enjoyment too: sharing certain weapons and items which people/classes favour that you might not. #borderlands
@Slagathorian: I never thought it was anything but. The game, like any of Valve's games, is built from the ground up for multiplayer. If you try to play it like Fallout, it might get tedious. Friends are always better. When I found out this game had split-screen, I almost jumped out of my pants. #borderlands
@Slagathorian: Haha, they barely had any ads out at all. Kayce saw it in a Walmart flyer first in Toronto, then I found out Futureshop and Bestbuy were matching it and had it up on their site for $39. Went into the downtown Futureshop on the morning of and picked up two copies. They had a huge stack behind the counter. But by the late afternoon I think it was all sold out in every location. My brother wasn't able to get in on the deal because he had class.
:(
I'll send you a tip next time I hear of any deals!
@hot_heart: Really? You think that SP is harder than MP? I am on my 2nd playthrough and 4 player MP is OMG more difficult. The wimpi-est mobs are taking at least 2 of us 30 seconds to kill. The bigger ones? All of us may run out of ammo and result to meleeing it before we get it down. #borderlands
@NeVeRMoRe666: Sorry, I just want to clarify that this is not a Valve game as you seem to believe. Furthermore, aside from TF2 and L4D, Valve games have been primarily single player affairs. #borderlands
@Kamakazie: Oh of course, I realize that. I've been following Gearbox for quite a while now. I was trying to compare it to L4D mostly. Perhaps I typed in haste :/ #borderlands
@ShadowMonkey: Well, obviously it's going to be harder on your second playthrough! =p I think you'd find it harder doing it on your own though since it's quite easy to get flanked and overwhelmed.
It's obviously clear that I've only done it on my first playthrough and it says the enemies are supposed to be tougher but it was still quite simply just unloading weapons at them and them dying rapidly. I guess they should've been a bit harder, to balance that many more people, but some of the sections I haven't done may prove trickier. And I'm looking forward to the second go around. #borderlands
