GameTrailers TV host Geoff Keighley once again flexes his Twitter muscles, announcing that a new game from LucasArts will be making its debut on this week's episode of the show. From Keighley's Twitter:

LucasArts will announce a brand-new original game on this week's GTTV - with first footage. More details soon.

And then the LucasArts Twitter echoed Keighley's announcement.

LucasArts will announce a brand-new original game on this week's GTTV - with first footage. More details soon. (watch it)

So does original mean not Star Wars? I only ask because I'd really like a new X-Wing game, and LucasArts did sort of tease an impending announcement regarding the series.

I guess we'll just have to wait until GameTrailers TV airs on Thursday at 12:30AM, which is technically Friday, but who's counting?

<![CDATA[GameTrailers TV Reveals New L4D2 Campaign Thursday]]> Gamers on board with the slow trickle of Left 4 Dead 2 reveals will want to look up the Spike TV channel listing this Thursday, as GameTrailers TV reports straight from Valve on its upcoming games.

The show promises to reveal at least one new campaign from the zombie shooter, plus bug Gabe Newell about a range of subjects, from Half-Life 2: Episode 3 to Portal 2 to his thoughts on the PlayStation 3. We're pretty sure that makes this must see TV and, at the very least, three hotly debated Kotaku posts.

Night owls will need to tune in at Thursday 12:30 AM if they want to see it live, shortly thereafter from the comfort of their computers.

<![CDATA[Uncharted 2 Gets Frosty On This Week's GameTrailers TV]]> Naughty Dog's upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be the focus of this week's GameTrailers TV, offering up new footage, new levels and a look inside the developer's studio.

What are we going to see? According to host Geoff Keighley, plan on witnessing three minutes of Uncharted 2 cinematics and one new level. Plus, we'll apparently see Keighley giving some Naughty Dog employees on of those "my man!" kind of handshakes. Should be fun.

We know that Sony will be showing off Uncharted 2: Among Thieves at the San Diego Comic-Con, just a fortnight away, so hopefully we'll be going hands-on with some of this new stuff soon.

<![CDATA[Is Microsoft Using 3DV Systems Tech For Natal? No Idea]]> Ever wanted to see Microsoft's John Schappert dance? Ask him what's in the Xbox 360's "Project Natal" hardware, specifically if it uses 3DV Systems' technology, which Microsoft was rumored to have purchased earlier this year.

GameTrailers TV host Geoff Keighley asked the (deep breath) Corporate Vice President of Live, Software and Services for the Interactive Entertainment Business where exactly the hardware powering Natal comes from, resulting in a not-so-nimble dodge from Mr. Schappert.

"It uses wonderful brand new Microsoft technology," the CVP responded. "Wonderful technology." Wonderful technology that Microsoft purchased and built upon to make a hands-free experience? Because John's description of a "depth camera, RGB camera, full array microphone with a proprietary on-board CPU chip" sounds awfully familiar.

When pressed on the subject, Schappert says, "I have no idea what's going on." This is must squirm TV, folks. Watch!

<![CDATA[GameTrailers TV Reveals Bethesda's Next Game Thursday]]> Keep your internal E3 hype-generating engine running smoothly, by tuning in to this week's GameTrailers TV. Especially if you want your first look at Fallout 3 developer Bethesda Softworks' next game.

The show will air the first trailer of whatever Bethesda has up its sleeve, giving fans ample reason to tune in. Of course, if you just want to see Spike TV's Geoff Keighley and sundry game industry types wearing the dressed up, dressed down t-shirt and blazer combo on camera, the GameTrailers TV E3 First Look special will oblige. As previously revealed, you'll also get a look at world exclusive premieres, including first footage of Mass Effect 2, DJ Hero and much, much more.

Also expect eye candy from Rose McGowan, Tricia Helfer from Battlestar Galactica and Daniel Kayser's soul patch. The show airs on Thursday at 11 PM on Spike, with that footage more than likely also appearing at GameTrailers.com soon after.

<![CDATA[More Modern Warfare 2, Heavy Rain Peeks On GTTV Tonight]]> Eager for any morsel you can get from Modern Warfare 2 and Heavy Rain? Then you'd best tune in to tonight's episode of GameTrailers TV, as both games will be featured.

Expect less Modern Warfare 2 than Heavy Rain though, as the next full video reveal of Infinity Ward's follow up to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is scheduled to air on TV this Sunday. Consider tonight's glimpse little more than a tease.

Heavy Rain however, appears to be getting more screen time, in advance of tomorrow's embargo break on the Quantic Dream-developed PlayStation 3 exclusive. Host Geoff Keighley promises tons of first ever footage of the game—which is true, because what we've seen up to this point isn't indicative of Heavy Rain's final content.

Expect more on tonight's episode, which is expected to air at 12:30 AM on Spike TV.

<![CDATA[E3 Details Spill From Epic GameTrailers Taping]]> Yesterday, Rose McGowan and Tricia Helfer joined Geoff Keighley for a special live taping of GameTrailers TV. The E3 2009-themed special was packed with news, some of which splashed our way from the audience.

Playstation 3 exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves got some face time as well, with a spokesman talking up multiplayer and confirming that the beta for the game will go live on the first day of E3.

We're also told that the upcoming Ratchet & Clank title, A Crack in Time will indeed feature time travel as a central theme in the game. Ratchet will also get a selection of new tech to play with including hover boots that will allow him to move around levels in a whole new way.

The show will also include an appearance by the the president of Infinity Ward who talked up Modern Warfare 2 and introduced a new trailer. The show also has more details on Mass Effect 2, some sort of big Madden NFL announcement and the reveal of a new game from Bethesda.

Other games being shown include Arkham Asylum, Need for Speed: Shift, Dante's Inferno, Aliens Vs. Predator and Lost Planet 2.

Sounds like this is a show you won't want to miss. The show kicks off May 28 at 11 p.m. ET/PT.

<![CDATA[More Modern Warefare 2 Footage Hits This Week]]> This Thursday's GameTrailers will be showing off a new Modern Warfare 2 gameplay teaser, I'm told.

The teaser, while similar in style to the brief tune-in commercial aired earlier this month, will include brand new scenes from the game.

I've heard that there are some surprises in store for us from the game. What do you think Modern Warfare 2 could be bringing?

<![CDATA[Reggie Rules Out Punch-Out!! Downloadable Content]]> When publishers are asked if their upcoming game supports downloadable content, they typically hem and haw, noting they haven't announced anything yet. In the case of Punch-Out!! for the Wii however, it's just not happening.

So says Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, who flat out denies that the upcoming Wii boxing game will add any contenders beyond the already announced thirteen. So when will we get first party DLC, Reggie? Folks desperate to spend Wii Points want to know!

"I'm certain that there will be opportunities for that down the road," Reggie tells GameTrailers TV's Geoff Keighley. "But, really for us — you know Mr. Iwata has said this many times — the way we look at our first party is we look for a way to drive the install base of the hardware."

We suppose that Rock & Roll Climber might do something like that for Wii Fit Balance Boards. OK, that's a long shot, but that's the Nintendo DLC philosophy.

"That's what we're trying to do," Reggie explains. "That coupled with downloadable content isn't as great a match, but I'm certain there will be some opportunities down the road with downloadable content from a Nintendo perspective, just not on Punch-Out!!"

But just think of the possibilities for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Reg. You're leaving money on the table!

<![CDATA[First Footage Of Punch-Out!!'s Multiplayer Mode]]> Last night's episode of GameTrailers TV debuted a new trailer for the Wii remake of Punch-Out!!. Said trailer reveals one new character, in a fashion, the hulked out Giga Mac.

While the rest of the featured lineup consists of boxers we already knew about—Glass Joe, Von Kaiser, Disco Kid, King Hippo—this is our first look at the bigger Mac. Guess they can't call him Big Mac, for fear of incurring the wrath of McDonald's legal team. Giga Mac will be playable in the multiplayer mode new to Punch-Out!!, which looks (*drums up enthusiasm*) moderately interesting.

The game certainly looks sharp, though, and years of pent up nostalgia makes this a personal Wii must-have.

<![CDATA[First BioShock 2 Footage, "Major" Killzone 2 Announcement On Next GameTrailers TV]]> This week's episode of GameTrailers TV, now airing one day earlier, will be packed with the game footage exclusives you've come to expect... no, demand from Geoff Keighley and crew.

That includes our first look at BioShock 2 and its Big Sister in action. Exciting! Joining 2K Games blockbuster hit sequel in the making are exclusive details on Punch-Out!! for the Wii—"with a twist you won't see coming"—plus a "major" Killzone 2 announcement, and details of Fable II's new downloadable content, straight from Peter Molyneux's mouth.

With this much shocking and thrilling exclusive content in a single episode, viewers may have to get tested for exclusive poisoning the next day. Watch with caution!

<![CDATA[GameTrailers TV Gets Earlier, Much Earlier Time Slot]]> Spike TV's video game exclusive packed weekly video game show, GameTrailers TV, is getting a slightly more sane time slot and giving you some weekly Geoff Keighley face time an entire day earlier.

The show is moving from "Friday nights at 1 AM"—which was technically early Saturday morning at 1 AM—to "Thursday nights at 12:30 AM." Again, technically that's early Friday morning, just past midnight. I know it's confusing, this whole time-telling thing.

The good news is that you'll get your fancy trailers and gameplay previews one day earlier. The bad is that you may have to wait longer to see the same content show up online the following morning.

<![CDATA[Alpha Protocol, Fallout 3 & Ghostbusters Exclusives On Next GTTV]]> This week's episode of GameTrailers TV continues the show's streak of exclusives, including first gameplay footage of Sega and Obsidian's Alpha Protocol in action. But that's not all!

Obviously. You can't fill twenty-two minutes worth of programming with just Alpha Protocol footage and Geoff Keighley charisma. Also making their television debuts will be the expansion for Fallout 3, The Pitt, as well as a spoiler-laden first look at a new boss from Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

The show runs at the ludicrous hour of 1 AM, with much of this hot exclusive action hitting the web the next day.

<![CDATA[Next GameTrailers TV Reveals Split Second, New World At War Downloadable Content]]> While first footage of new downloadable content for Call of Duty: World At War will probably draw the most viewers, it's the first look at Split Second that makes the next GameTrailers TV enticing.

The action racing game from Disney and Pure developers Black Rock Studios is given but a few seconds in the teaser for this week's upcoming episode. But the few seconds we do get and the solid Pure pedigree may make us stay up late to watch the show. Or at least get up early on Saturday morning to see it online.

The episode also promises exclusive looks at The Conduit and Boom Blox Bash Party for Wii, plus some clearly spoilerific scenes from Resident Evil 5.

We also hear that host Geoff Keighley will be debuting a new sweater. Just a heads up!

<![CDATA[Gametrailers TV Does The PlayStation Network]]> The Spike TV video game show formerly known as Game Head is heading to the PlayStation Network, as host Geoff Keighley announces the arrival of GameTrailers TV on the PlayStation 3.

GameTrailers TV, the "number 1 rated video game show on TV" (which isn't really saying much) makes it's debut on the PlayStation Network this week. A long-time stable of Xbox Live video content, the program makes it's debut on the PlayStation 3 today with the addition of seasons 1 and 2, which will be followed up by delivery of new shows every week.

Check out the video of GameTrailers TV host and one-time Kotaku guest editor Keighley making his special announcement below. We miss you, Geoff. Come back to us.

<![CDATA[GameTrailers TV Teases "Huge Announcement"]]>

Brace yourselves. The GameTrailers TV promo crew has fired up the Mr. Fusion, delivering 1.21 gigawatts of power to the internet hype machine, promising an exclusive bit of news on Call of Duty: World At War that will "rock the internet" and "will have everyone talking." Also on tap, the first trailer for Splatterhouse — one we desperately hope isn't the painfully brief preview we saw at Namco Bandai's Tokyo HQ.

Finally, because we love thrills so much, the episode is planning another "huge announcement." This one involves... Neil Patrick Harris?! What could it be? Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Game? Harold & Kumar Go To An Ice Level?! Trauma Center: Doogie Howser?!?!

<![CDATA[CoD: World At War Debuts On GameTrailers TV Friday]]> It's time to remember which channel Spike TV is on your cable box this Friday as GameTrailers TV features a world-exclusive first look at the next game in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: World at War. Developed by the people's second choice for CoD Treyarch, the game promises to redefine the WWII genre, which I really need to see to believe.

"Considering the incredible reception our hardcore gamer audience has given the GT Diamond Award-winning Call of Duty franchise, we are confident that they'll go crazy for this never-before-seen footage from Call of Duty: World at War," said Geoff Keighley, host of GTTV. "We are thrilled that Activision turned to GTTV to unveil this exclusive, reinforcing GameTrailers' tradition of bringing fans the best quality and most sought-after content."

This week's episode also features footage from The Lord of the Rings: Conquest and some sort of exclusive Star Wars dealie from LucasArts. As always, GameTrailers TV airs Friday night at 1am Eastern time.
