The game has all kinds of problems (connectivity, UI, tutorials, different types of glitches, not so high production value), but if you're into Bloodbowl, or rugby/american football and all things "orcs and dwarfs" the game is quite enjoyable and private leagues are tons of fun.
Also, the game is meant to be played in turn-based mode, even if there is a real time mode.
To anyone on the fence about this one, I strongly recommend to read the match write ups at rockpapershotgun.com. That's what got me into this game. #bloodbowl
@Taggart6 once shot a man just to watch him die.: I haven't played mutant league football, but supposedly bloodbowl is quite similar, though after being released in france a few months ago it STILL has ridiculous connection issues, making it nearly unplayable online for some people (as in, only being able to successfully create a match with someone around 1/20 tries) #bloodbowl
Mainly, the game is based off of an old tabletop miniatures game of the same name. It uses the same rules as the tabletop game, and the game just DOES NOT do very well explaining the damn thing.
Expect to read the rulebook for the tabletop version (which is supplied digitally, at no cost) to have a full understanding of what is going on. If you are willing to spend a bit of time on the game, the investment will pay off. If that sounds like too much effort, then skip it.
Well, looks as good as I would expected, hope it plays really well. Some screenies/movies from the DS version would also be welcome, im curious to see what they are doing on the dual screened portable wonder.
@Xer0Ph0kus: Really? I stopped playing shortly before the 7th edition came out. What happened?
I think I remember hearing they frigged with skirmishers. Which would be sad because my elves rocked the skirmishers. So did the skaven for that matter, with those ninja rats. What nerfed the lizardmen?
Damn straight. Plague-censers (censors? I doubt that, but I can't reacall) for the win. I ended up switching to wood elves when GW redid them, because everyone at our gaming store had a batch of Skaven stored away somewhere and besides, you can only paint so many plague boils erupting from rat noses before you begin to feel a little sick with yourself. But this video takes me back.
If only I'd been able to make them all little Green Stuff football helmets, maybe I wouldn't have abandoned them for the stylish (if disastrously fragile) elves.

I played the beta and read the RPS articles religiously. I'd just rather sit on the couch and play...
Oh and this game is amazingly fun once you get the hang of it. I recommend it. #bloodbowl

How does this game compare?
I've heard mixed things but this free DLC looks like a positive. #bloodbowl
