    Now come on, dude, the BloodRayne games weren't without their cool features. I loved playing both of them. The story was cheesy and kind of cliche, but still fun.

    And it did action damn well, though, especially with cheat codes for unlimited bullet time. Nothing like slashing through an entire room of monsters and Nazis and Nazi monsters like you were staring in a Zack Snyder movie.

    To be fair, the metacritic page you linked to shows some not-too-terrible scores.

    I personally find Uwe Boll to be entertaining. He's kind of like Ed Wood and Gary Busey all rolled into a garish, cheap and obnoxious package. I mean, any Uwe news item is going to guarantee a shitstorm in the comments page, which is good for business. The thought of an impending movie from Boll warms and circulates the blood, and actually viewing one of his films is actually kind of fun, like watching a trainwreck but with nudity.

    I'm not saying Bloodrayne 3 should be made. Ideally, Boll would just film a vampire jail sex scene starring Kristanna Lokken every two years, write some ridiculous press releases, give some interviews, pound out some blog posts and forget about writing a script. Because I know that if I'm flipping channels, and I come across Bloodrayne, I'll at least consider whether I've missed the sex scene or not. That's more than I can say for, say... Poison Ivy or Basic Instinct 2.

    @buddhathing: I actually met Uwe Boll in Los Angeles at a signing at that Spudik event a few weeks ago. He's a pretty interesting and funny guy, even if his movies aren't really up to anyone's tastes. After talking to him, my opinion changed. He's still a bad director, but I got respect for him in actually going out of his way to make films. Even bad films are hard to make.

    @sci-fi_wasabi: Look: I'm sure Bloodrayne 3 will never hold a candle to Godfather 3, but I'll take it over a Garfield or Alvin & the Chipmunks sequel anyday despite my respect for Bill Murray and Jason Lee. I'll take an Uwe Boll movie over another Scary/Date/Epic Move. I'll take another wrecked video game adaptation over another tired romantic comedy with Matthew McConaughey at an angle on the one-sheet.

    I wouldn't mind another Bloodrayne game ... there was some potential there, and I had enough fun with them for what they were.

    There is no reason on Earth for another Uwe Boll film, though ... unless torture becomes legal.

    @jayntampa: I agree-the Bloodrayne games, while imperfect, still definitely had potential. They were fun enough, for the most part, except where the shoddy controls got you killed needlessly.

    Are the Bloodrayne games really that unpopular?

    I mean, sure, they're nothing really impressive, and while I never played the sequel, I remember playing the first one years ago and it wasn't that horrible.

    It wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but it was playable and delivered some fun. Worth a rental if you've got nothing else available at least, or 10$ on Steam if I ever feel like replaying it.

    Where is this coming from?

    @Fieldy: I thought public opinion of Bloodrayne was that it was nothing great, but not bad enough to be called bad. Sort of a budget game.

    @Fieldy: Bloodrayne was pushed as a AAA title, but ultimately it was a budget title which attempted to use gratuitous sex and violence to sell. Bloodrayne 2 followed this formula of overpromising and greatly underdelivering.

    And, of course, the Bloodrayne movies were atrocious.

    @seishino: Oh, I see. So basically it's a victim of its own hype/marketing. Kinda like Haze.

    And I'm sure the movies are indeed horrible. I never saw them. I'm done with Uwe Boll movies. I think I only saw House of the Dead, and it was plain retarded (the sequel was better at being bad and ended up being awesome, though).

    No intention of seeing Far Cry or Postal... or, you know.. any of them.

    Terrible idea. The storyline was one of the most weakest, predictable, piece of garbage writing since your angst teen discovers he has superpowers.

    Of course the marjors will eat it up, it has studio film all over it. Only thing you will need is Kevin Smith and Michael Bay on it, 70 million dollar opening weekend right there. Consumers really need to be educated on the things they are splurging their money on.

    It could be great since the movie has just green lit, but if any has half a brain-they will stop before a single cent is wasted on pre production.
