I'm always skeptical about DS rhythm games, mostly because the built-in speakers just really aren't that loud, but I can still get into them as long as the gameplay makes up for it. This one looks awesome though, so I'll probably try it out. Is it a game though, or more like a the Korg thing where you can actually make music? That was a little confusing to me. Some parts looked similar to Elite Beat Agents (following the circles on the turntable), and other parts looked like they were actually assembling their own beats (at about 1:35).
@NeoStarr: They are generally loud enough for rhythm games, but personally I always use headphones for rhythm games. Love Rhythm Heaven and Ouendan and EBA.
@excel_excel: I used to think they were loud enough too, until I plugged my headphones in on EBA and Patapon...and heard entire note structures that I didn't even know existed, lol
The difference it made in my ability to keep streaks going was *huge*. Definitely never play handheld games without headphones anymore, since so many have audible cues for various things.
I already look back at all the awesome music games that used to be released. Like Gitaroo Man, Amplitude/Frequency, and all of those and Konami still puts out every other music game I play with any actual time investment outside of parties.
As far as I'm concerned, the era of music gaming started 10 years ago.
@Ueziel: This, who didn't enjoy the crap out of Parappa the Rappa or any of the other classic music games way back when. The only thing thats different about today is that music games are slowly becoming the new FPS with everyone and their mother wanting to make one.

In the rain or in the snow, I got the funky flow but now I really gotta go.
