From slamming lovable afroed hack Koji Igarashi to taking a blasphemous dig at Shigeru Miyamoto, the list is sure to cause some controversy. And plenty of traffic.

Let's just hope no Nintendo fans know where feature author Chris Buffa lives or he'll find his front lawn littered with burning Buffa effigies tomorrow morning. Proceed to GameDaily at your own risk!

<![CDATA[ PS3 Owners To Be "Very Happy" Come GDC ]]> THANKS FOR NOTHING JAMIL!In an interview with GDC executive director Jamil Moledina, the bar has been set unbelievably high for Phil Harrison's March 7th keynote "Game 3.0: Developing and Creating for the 3rd Age of Video Games." Will there be megaton caliber announcements from Sony?

Possibly, as GameDaily's James Brightman reminds Moledina of the following:

BIZ: You told me at D.I.C.E. that on March 7, I'd be "very happy" that I'm a PlayStation 3 owner. What revelations will Phil Harrison have for us during his keynote that will make us go gaga for PS3? Care to give us some hints?

JM: Haha! Not to be coy but you'll just have to come to his talk James. All I can say is that I stand behind my comment regarding your future emotional state.

Poor, Phil! Now he has to do something spectacular or we'll unfairly rake him and the entire Sony corporation over the coals. As a PLAYSTATION 3 owner, I'm fascinated.

The Kotaku crew will be in attendance for GDC in San Francisco next week and I'm bringing an emergency morphine drip just in case Harrison fails to elicit a positive reaction with his speech.

<![CDATA[ Ten Ways To (Maybe) Snag A PS3 ]]>

Like I said earlier today, after driving past a non-midnight launch Circuit City and witnessing the growing line, I've completely given up on securing a PlayStation 3 on day one. My goal now is to egg as many campers as possible. But if you're still in the hunt, GameDaily has a few tips for you that might just help.

Sure they range from the obvious (#9 Bid on eBay) to the very geographically specific (#6 Move out of Japan and [spoiler] #1 Move to Wyoming) but there might be a handful of useful tidbits in there, if being line-sitter 179 doesn't seem like your speed.

Regardless of the knowledge herein, you can at least take comfort in the fact that you won't be competing with yours truly. My advice? Bring a poncho, 'cause I'm bringing plenty of eggs.

<![CDATA[ AOL Buys GameDaily ]]> AOL has purchased GameDaily from Gigex, the company announced today.

As part of the agreement AOL gets both GameDaily and Biz.GameDaily. This is the second major game site purchased by AOL. Last year the company bought up Weblogs Inc, which includes gameblog Joystiq.

GameDaily will become the flagship of the AOL Games network, which will still feature stories from their current writers and properties. The AOL Video Games editorial team will be combined with the GameDaily editorial staff to create content for GameDaily.

"Video game sites have become a valuable resource for advertisers wishing to reach the young male audience, and GameDaily is a brand that resonates with these highly sought after consumers," said Ralph Rivera, Vice President and General Manager, AOL Games. "We look forward to continuing to serve this audience, maximizing GameDaily content with AOL's community features, and further expanding the AOL Games community."

It looks like AOL is building up to become a powerhouse in the industry.

<![CDATA[ The Rest Of You Need To Become Better Games Journalists ]]> Style! Not us. For not only is the Kotaku crew one of the best looking groups of gaming writers, with a collective fashion sense that shames our distinguished competition and a singular wit, we have a knack for... making good words... on the page... of the game.... things.

Typos aside (we're above proofreading), we do a pretty darn good job. For instance, GameDaily's Chris Buffa takes supposed professional game journalists at IGN to task for multiple writing offenses in his op-ed piece "How to Become a Better Videogame Journalist". Here's one such jab:

For example, check out this sentence, taken from a recently-published article about Capcom's Dead Rising:
"After all, who doesn't enjoy running over 50 zombies with a lawnmower? Nobody. Except communists."
Wow Mr. Journalist! Way to keep up with 1980s humor!

Now, what I'd have done there is made a witty allusion to a similar scene from Night of the Creeps by cinematic auteur Fred Dekker, eliciting chirps of laughter from the schlock-horror/Kotaku reader fan base cross-section. See? We clearly don't need the help.

But if you don't think your game writing is up to snuff, do yourself a favor: read this editorial. It has tons of tips and tricks on how to unlock the elite journalist within. Hell, with enough practice and dedication, combined with less time fan-ficking Final Fantasy X-3 erotica, you might actually turn this little hobby into a "career".

How to Become a Better Videogame Journalist (thanks, Ben!)
