    You know what? I could settle for this. I'll give it a shot.


    If they've put in a melee, fixed (a wide array of) online multiplayer issues, and continue game support, I'd be more than willing to pay full price for it. A high quality game.


    That would mean, of course, they really should fix the framerate as well.

    @salmonellaboy: Did you play the first and have you paid attention to the second? Incredible experiences to be had all around, this fall is going to be epic, and Uncharted 2 is definitely the leader of the pack

    @Makidian: Yes, I have. Even played 2 at E3. While gorgeous, it was very much "more of the same." Which, in this case, is by no means a bad thing at all, I just feel there were more original offerings at the show that hold more promise.


    Plus, the multiplayer barely brings anything to the table except for the ability to climb stuff. Otherwise it's just like Gears 2 but without the blood and guts and with crappier controls.

    @Dillinger23: Ask yourself this. If you gave Gears a multiplayer level that had a lush jungle setting with green grass and blue sky and then you turned off the gore, how similar would that be to Uncharted 2 multiplayer?

    @chuffhoncho: I've played through the Uncharted 2 beta quite extensively (which features a campaign level with co-op and two levels for competitive) and already it's clear that the game is nothing like Gears of war.


    Gears felt floaty to me (as do a lot of games using the unreal engine), but uncharted does not... the GeOW2 gunplay I couldn't get into whilst I thoroughly enjoy the uncharted beta... plus of course theres the ability to scale surfaces, jump and descend from rooftops that gives the game a much greater sense of verticality.


    Whilst I realise my first two points are more a personal preference thing, what you should glean is that both titles are sufficiently different.


    Oh, and the voice acting in Uncharted shits all over the testosterone ridden b-movie quality shite in Gears! (man, I hate the gears voice acting... bender or not!)

    @No I wouldn't like tea and crumpets: Half of those games pictured happen to be the first of their series. Mass Effect, LBP, Gears... They were not proven then.

    Problem is, not all gamers watch/care about the "Best of" awards. What they want is what they'll get and having that small print of being the "Best of" something is just extra intensive of thinking to themselves that they made the right choice.

    @(Zombie) Goldwings: I have bought many games the were not even close to best of(SkyGunner and MS:saga for example)so i never listen to neither this "Games critics" or reviewer and just go with my gut feeling an so far not wrong on my choices of games.

    We already went over this - no, just because a game gets good reviews from the press doesn't mean it's going to sell well.


    Psychonauts is a shining example of this that always gets brought up.

    Wow. The critics did a really great job with the nominations. I hope Uncharted, Brutal Legend, Scribblenauts and Mass Effect all take home their fair share of awards.


    Mass Effect might be the game to make me get a 360. It looks incredible. Or I could play it on my PC.

    I always found it very strange, this idea of giving out awards to unreleased (and often unfinished) games that were only partially showcased during a show - awards that then end up on the cover of those games.


    I really don't get it. Give me full reviews, then you've got my attention.
