I wonder if the PSP version will have nearly as much voicework as the original not to mention the dual language tracks. I'm doubting it, which is a shame as thats one of main things I'm enjoying about the original.
Dammit why must it be so far away? I can't wait to get my hands on this, definately a PSP game I must have. Now I just need more news on Macross Ultimate Frontier.
you know, I wish sony would make a PSP player for the PS3, like nintendo's GBA player for the cube. The only time I play games is when I'm sitting down at my house. Why would I want to play on something that hurts my hands and has a small screen?
@massivedmg: I got the PSP component cables and while not perfect, it's pretty nice for when you want a bigger screen. I played a good chunk of crisis core that way.
@BubbleF**kingBuddy: That's okay. They finally made a plane in VC era when they were used in WW1.
@bkchurch: Yeah what kinda person puts a radiator in the back? That's not good engineering, there's no way the airflow can get around to sufficiently cool it.
I was actually worried we wouldn't get the game in the US for quite a while. Valkyria Chronicles was a darling of the critics (including myself), but I wondered if it sold well enough to the American PlayStation 3 audience to justify bringing over the sequel. Guess the answer is yes.
Much like every great game Sega publishes, it didn't sell well because Sega spent absolutely no money on advertising it.
Sega expects great games to sell themselves. Next time, critics, if you want a game published by Sega to sell, murder it in the reviews. Then Sega will advertise it, and it'll sell. Just look at Iron Man and Sonic Unleashed.
@drew.catt: Yep, even immediately upon release I had a hell of a time finding the game. I went to countless stores in my city and no one had it, though they mentioned they'd been asked a fair amount about it.
Then our nearest Gamestop ordered in like, two copies, and I wound up getting one as a Christmas gift.
It shouldn't have been that difficult, and I think that had a lot to do with it's terrible initial sales.
Man, a strong desire for something can make you see funny things. For a second, I thought the title was "It's Official: Valkyria Chronicles II Coming Consoleside!".
Oh well, I guess that makes for like, the 50th RPG I'm gonna miss out on this gen, just because I hate getting neck cramps from looking down for hours on end.

What if the war in the first game was really the Winter War, and this one is WWII?
That would make Marina Wulfstan Simo Häyhä!

Can't wait to see the stage where you take down the Berlin Wall! I mean, the Bruhl wall.
Also looking forward to the stage where you assist contras only to have them turn around and make parts of Gallia into dictatorships.

After the PS3 price drop I promised myself that I'd immediately buy one if I walked into a place that was selling Valkyria Chronicles.
After many random trips to Gamestop, Target, Best Buy, etc, I've yet to even see the game for sale.
I'm not sure what it looked like after it was initially released, but I haven't even been able to find a game I want to buy in stores.

Damn it was a good game. The battle system was so brilliant it would seem a waste not to explore it further with more releases.

I swear playing PSP in the dark it's like playing the god damn virtual boy.

No PS3 necessary, you just need the PSP component cables.

I wish it sold enough so we get it on a console, just having it come stateside on a psp is not enough. Quite disappointing.
