I hope they have every single character from the books.
I mean, if it doesn't have Ispan Shefar, Corele Hovian, Setalle Anan, Amathera, and Samitsu Tamagowa, it's not really worth playing, right?
No!
I don't care how much of a fan he is! There are thousands of Wheel of Time fans who didn't write Tokyo Drift and are thus better suited to write a game adaptation.
At least involve Brandon Sanderson, the author Jordan's wife selected to complete the WoT novels. He has a remarkable understanding of game systems and how to write for them.
@jettokisora: While I understand your general sentiment, I think I should point out to you and many others that the script for Tokyo Drift was formulaic but surprisingly decent. The discourse was pretty unusual and refreshing as it was ultimately an ode to hybridization and cosmopolitism.
Also, for Wanted, Morgan was only the 3rd man hired to help make a screenplay out of the retarded story written by the other two so...
To his credit he is also the author of Cellular. I never saw that movie but it was at the very least pretty original I heard.
To his charge, his latest effort, Fast & Furious, was pretty lame.
Is this article sarcastic? I can't tell. I don't know about directors, so I don't know if this guy really is suitable, or if Mike is being sarcastic here.
But I am a big fan of The Wheel of Time. Really hope this movie does it a lil justice. Doubt it will be perfect. Personally I always thought that the story was to long, and complex to be adapted into movies. But I'll bite, and let myself get a little excited over this. In the least, I can be pulled back into Robert Jordon's world once again. And since this movie will likely come out along side the 11th book, it will help me prepare to bring myself back.
@Klausaidon: I think it might have been half sarcastic but it's hard to tell. Having read the series most of my life I'm really trying not to let myself get excited about this movie/game adaptation and the choice of the monster behind Tokyo Drift and Wanted is helping with that. At least he's a fan though. By the way, I think you might be confused about the release date as the 11th book came out in 2005 and the 12th out of now 14 books in the series comes out this November.
"Having written The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Chris Morgan is no stranger to wheels"
I sincerely hope that this is how script writer cv's are written. :D
Of course, that would mean that having worked with Keanu Reeves, the Wachowski's could become carpenters.
