After rigorous closed and open alpha and beta testing, THQ*ICE is ready to call Dragonica Online a game tomorrow, inviting new and current Dragonicans to participate in all sorts of special events, leading up to their first holiday event at the end of the month. Planned events include an Around the World in 80 Hours contest where players take screenshots of their journeys, posting them in the forums for a chance at prizes; the opening of the Emporia War Challenge, with the THQ*ICE guild taking on all comers in the first weekly battle for ownership of Emporia; the opening of the game's third dungeon; increased experience points and gold drops for the entire weekend; and the chance to win a collectible Dragonica Online Game Card by logging in every day between the 15th and 22nd.

For those unfamiliar with the game, think of it as a 3D version of Ragnarok Online, with adorable characters and arcade gameplay well-suited to game pad control. And it's free, so you might as well visit the game's website and try it out.

<![CDATA[Trine Now Available On Steam]]> FrozenByte's 2D physics meets magic platformer Trine is now available to purchase an play via Steam, with a price that was briefly a little lower than many expected.

A suggest retail price for the PC of $30-$40 caused a bit of consternation among fans awaiting the PC release of Trine earlier this week, worried that they would be paying near double what the PlayStation 3 players would be paying once the game hits the PlayStation Network. It looked like relief was in sight this morning when the game hit Steam for $19.99, but as I sat here typing this, the price changed, as did the tone of this article. Now the game is $10 more expensive than it was initially, which means the original price was either a mistake, or a cruel joke meant to taunt me. It's a good thing I compulsively hit the refresh button.

So, who is biting, and who would rather wait for the less expensive PlayStation 3 version?

<![CDATA[Battlefield Heroes Performs Covert Launch]]> The cartoonish, free-to-play, web-based iteration of DICE's Battlefield series has quietly slipped out of beta, with Battlefield Heroes now available for anyone willing to partake.

I've found no big launch announcement, and other than the new trailer on the front page of the site, it doesn't seem like much fanfare is being made. If you would like to play, feel free and head on over and knock yourself out. Just be quiet, because we don't want to accidentally wake up the marketing team.

<![CDATA[Free-To-Play MMORTS Dreamlords Launching Wednesday]]> Swedish Developer Lockpick Entertainment have been working on their free-to-play MMORTS Dreamlords: The Reawakening for quite some time now, but now they've dropped us a line to let us know that the game is ready for launch this Wednesday, June 18th. It's a nifty little title that combines an actual, downloaded RTS client with a web-based management system that essentially allows you to manage aspects of play when you generally shouldn't be, say at-work, for instance.

The game features three races, each with different balances between combat and management to allow players to focus on the RTS aspect they're most keen on. You can hit up the official website for more information, or hit up the gallery below for the latest screens of Dreamlords: The Reawakening.
