    24 hours of gaming wasn't that difficult in summer 2005 when WoW was in full gear. I think in June of that year I had gone nearly 40 hours without more than a cat-nap. How funny I was really depended on how I was reacting to my Monsters...

    Longest I've gamed straight was 73 hours in-game time playing Final Fantasy XII, I got up to use the toilet, pausing when I did and lived on crisps and red bull. I didn't even notice night changing to day and vice versa. By the time I got up I had played the game from start to finish and done some monster hunts afterwards. Since then, I've only put in another 11 hours into it.

    Years ago, when I received Final Fantasy X on the morning of my birthday, I had already been playing Max Payne 2 for an hour or so when my brother came into my room and gave me my present.

    I played FFX almost non-stop until the early hours of the next day. If it wasn't 24 hours, it wasn't too far off the mark.


    I do have an excuse: it was shortly after I'd returned from a long stay in Vietnam, without video games for 4 months (and I'd bought the PS2 only a couple of months before leaving).


    It's something I never did again. I can't begin to tell you how disgusted I felt with myself at the time...

    @Antiterra: Jet Lag + 4 months of great food can do that to you. Anyway, I hear the food is great in Vietnam.

    Going by the attempts at humour in their game scripts, "Japanese comedian" is a bit of an oxymoron isn't it?

    That sounds like a nightmare. I can barely stand playing a game for a few hours straight, 24 is ridiculous.


    Good luck to him, I hope he has some seriously awesome games.

    @spannu: Unfortunately there's never been anyone around here to LAN with, a few Halo LANs a while back but that didn't last long.


    @Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: It's not the gaming that I couldn't do, but I get sore from sitting in the same place too long. I'd need like an mega comfy chair and I'd be good to go!
