Wow ... the sexism was only mentioned 4 times in 6 paragraphs. You know, we pretty much understood your point after the first mention -- beyond that, it becomes ranting and raving, and thereby loses any real meaning.

Considering how many times AJ called the game sexist, I'm failing to understand why the label is being applied (beyond the fact that we live in an overly PC world). So the main character doesn't wear a lot...neither did Vaan (ewwwww). But seriously...how is this different from any other number of games with scantily clad women (since, hey, the majority of sony/microsoft gamers are still men)?

@ghostadv: She is, it's a thong. And I think you can get costume upgrades - but since they wouldn't show them to me, I can't say with confidence that they're NOT just different colored thongs.

@Weaselfingers: I'm confused too. Forgive me - it's been a long day. I *think* I don't like it because it's so generic and stereotypical. But on the other hand, I *might* like it if it's meant to be satire. And I just didn't get enough of an impression of the game to tell what the case may be.

@AJ Glasser: Wha? It could be satire? From the start I've just assumed these guys watch too much Naruto and have a highly skewed view of what constitutes awesome character design. (I.e., start by tracing a picture of your favorite anime character, change the color of a few pieces of clothing, call it your own invention. See: DeviantART)

@Thorax: I think that is part of his point. It is not a great game, but it sounds like he is saying it is not nearly as bad as it should have been. For a game like this, generic kind of works, it knows it isn't game of the year and doesn't try to be.

That being said, I doubt I will pick it up.

...Though I am led to, perhaps, ignorantly question why she calls the game sexist. Is it just because of the way the lead character is dressed? There are a many games in which the lead male character is dressed with little more than pants and a bandanna, which is hardly adequate armor either...

@detto: Resistance 2's trophies aren't that hard to get except for the 10,000 kills in competitive mode. Then again, it's not really hard...it's just annoying.

Ok thats it.. till now I only knew of this game because of all my friends talking about this game with the lead character who has almost no clothes...

and with all these recent screenshots and updates.. I feel like actually knowing what the game is about.. is it just a DMC clone with nothing special?

searching kotaku for videos/impressions now..
