Tim Schafer is a shmuck...First of all, If you find yourself locked out on one side of the door, why the hell would there be a key stuck on the other side of the door. Its locked to keep the opposite side out. And I ask you this...where are there door gaps big enough so that you can stick a slie of bread through...my god...think of the electric bill. And if you can stick a tootpick to loosen the key, I'm sure you could do it without the mayonais.
@SuicidalEarthworm: Thank God that was just a hypothetical example Tim pulled off the top of his head to illustrate a point in an interview, and not something that actually found its way into a finished product. Otherwise, you might actually have a point.
Good thing that's not the case! *whew*
@SuicidalEarthworm: There's a key in the door and there are door gaps big enough to slide a slice of bread under because it's a theoretical situation for a game. I mean, you might as well be saying this:
Miyamoto is a shmuck...First of all, If you find yourself in a magical kingdom, why the hell would there be huge pipes sticking out of the ground that teleport you to different places. Pipes are for sewage not for travel. And I ask you this...where are there pipes big enough so that you can stick a fat plumber through...my god...think of the maintenance bill once somebody tries to flush a toilet. And if you can put little floating question mark blocks in midair all over the place, I'm sure you could do it without surrounding them with blocks of briks.
Might be interesting to run news stories that correspond to games or series that are currently getting rebooted or the latest in a long line of sequels is arriving.
Reviews and news for the original Call of Duty.
Original WarCraft and StarCraft news (heck, anything from the origins of Blizzard would be golden).
Old reviews or discussion of the GameBoy.
Madden and NHL news from their watershed years ('92, '94, '97)
The original tony hawk or other skateboard games.
John Carmack and Romero were pretty golden back in the day, too, so old id and wolfenstein news could be interesting.
Mortal Kombat just to remember how it was the most awful thing ever foisted on kids (or so the news thought then)....
@bableebooblah-new and improved.: I don't want to be a stick-in-the-mud, but I think I'm going to be sick for a couple weeks after looking at this image.
@bableebooblah-new and improved.: Now, having lived for awhile in Deutschland as a youth, I do love 'Salat-Mayonnaise' on my Pomme-Frittes (also mushroom gravy and curry ketchup). But that's a metric fuck-tonne of Mayo, and I have to side with the haters and express my disgust. That poor tray looks as though it would bend wearily if picked up by an end, spilling its load and perhaps saving a life.
@(zombie) buddhathing: Are you sure that's mayonnaise? It looks like you could use that stuff to caulk up your bathtub. That being said, I do appreciate mayonnaise on my fries from time to time, and I'm American. Still... that picture... blecgh.

I think posting some early interviews where Peter Molyneux talks about his plans for the future of gaming and them comparing them to what has actually happened would be interesting.
@TaggarT6: THIS. I think talking about all the planned ports and spinoffs of Black and White would be particularly hilarious and fit-inducing. I really wanted to see more Black and White.
@gold163 Have Explosive: Well isn't Milo the logical continuation of Black & White? I mean, the RTS in B&W was so bland, that 99% of their time must have been spend developing the creatures.
IMHO that is the main reason that B&W2 is a better game, as the the creatures don't differ that much, they could spend a few weeks actually developing the game surrounding them.
Milo now leaves away the unimportant part (the game) and focuses on the creature. Tamagochi rulez!
(Note, similar things could be written about the development of the eyepet)
@develin: Honestly, I always thought that the need to take care of your creature was pretty bothersome. Unlike with everybody else, my main intention in playing Black and White wasn't to raise my creature, but to play God. We have plenty of Will Wright games for that, but I still loved the way that the first Black and White did things, and building cities was a rather addicting and satisfying hassle. Plus, the side quests were hilarious.
@gold163 Have Explosive: I still want them on the DS, myself. Then maybe I'd have a DS game that I'd actually play.
Or put them on the DSi network, so then there'd be a DSi download that anyone would actually bother to play.
@I Think We're Property: I remember that a while back I said that Sam and Max Hit the Road would be perfect on the DS and everybody ever agreed with me. It's funny how the gamer community comes up with all these great, obvious ideas, but the actual game companies don't think that they'd be profitable or worth doing.
Wow, games that invoke solutions like that really anger me. Sure, it's better then finding a lock-pick on the counter, but, not by much. That sounds like a case of over thinking a simple solution.
@gold163 Have Explosive: That may be, but using a ham sandwich to do so is ridiculous. I mean, I love SH, so I know my way around some bat-shit insane solutions. If you asked a thousand people in real life to solve that puzzle no-one would come up with the answer. The only reason anyone could solve that in a game is through process of elimination of pounding the action button at everything possible.
@grantanamo: I didn't like Full Throttle much, primarily because the puzzle design was lacking. Some were pretty neat and innovative such as how Ben busts into the trailer, but the bunny mine scene was terribly put together. The junk yard bit and the constant biker battles are just a bit too abstract in their design for my tastes. I tend to think Schafer pushed the theme and graphics too hard with Full Throttle at the expense of a quality plot, dialogue, and puzzles.
