I really enjoyed it -- it's not perfect, but the script was excellent. Other than a few niggling encounters where the difficulty suddenly ramps up, it was totally worth the purchase. So much so, I decided not to trade it in or sell it ... which is unusual for me. Online play was kind of fun, too, with the whole co-op, yet competeting thing.
Best movie game ever made hands down. Its basically Ghostbusters 3, and a very well done one at that. It got me all hot and bothered for the actual Ghostbusters 3 movie coming out, and I went back and picked up the first two as well, then replayed the game. It fits perfectly, Bill Murrays listless voice acting aside.
Honestly, this just seems like it will be too much game for me. I'm burnt the hell out on sandbox games. Give me some fun filled linear "point A to point B" type shit any day of the week!
Sometimes, just because you CAN do something doesn't mean that it should be done.
@newtype2011: Nah...and for the record, a game doesn't have to be THA BIGGEST GAME EVAR to have decent replay value. I mean, after Crackdown, Im having trouble getting into these huge open world type games. I even gave Fallout 3 a chance, and even tho I did have some memorable moments, I just felt rather overwhelmed.
Maybe it's because my free time is not what it once was...maybe Im just getting old. I dunno. It's just that most of the time those types of games seem like more like work and micromanagement sims than fun. *shrugs*

if i can just be gay for a minute, i must say that david dedeine is a sharp lookin' man... you all know what i'm talking about. and i get the feeling he's far younger than his gray hair would have one think
@laflotte: I don't believe you can rent or demo "the gay" for a minute or so. :p Yeah, he's got the Anderson Cooper thing going with his hair. It's always nice to see a studio not loaded up on fat pale men, just as a stereotype-buster of sorts.
@burtwonk: Yeah the concept is interesting, but is it fun? We'd need to see how races work... if its just driving around I can imagine that would get boring pretty fast.
@bakalhau: to be fair you're in a car. it's a roughly 75 mi x 75 mi square area which means that, assuming you can spot a vista from half a mile away and an average speed of 75 miles an hour, it would take roughly 75 hours to find them all. which is 3 solid days of playing, not too shabby, but also not all that long relative to some other games. if you can spot a vista from further away or average over 75 the time is shorter.
Not all games have to be THAT immersive. Jesus, it's not okay to have a simplified direcitonal tool? I mean come on, look at SotC: it was a literal giant glowing arrow, but it "came from the sword," and you had to "raise it to the sun." Whoopdee do. Unless this games focus is geared towards immersion or some "vision," then really, who cares?
In the giant scheme of game mechanics that really need innovation badly, directional tools is well... pretty fuckin' low on the ladder.

Next month you'll be in here complaining that said linear game doesn't have replay value. Just can't please some people.
(not to mention one doesn't HAVE to sandbox it up)
