Last month was all about Nintendo's DS Lite, this month it's all about giving away as much fun stuff as possible. To that end, we will be giving away game swag, controllers, accessories, games, subscriptions; you name it, every day for the rest of the month.

Starting today, I will be randomly selecting a post each day and then deciding which comment about the post was the funniest, most insightful or interesting and hand out a prize to the poster.

Remember this will be a daily occurrence and will be based on substance not quantity or speed. If you don't have commenting ability, don't fret. We'll be on throughout the month giving away invites. You can also try emailing tips@kotaku.com with, well, tips and a request for an invite.

I don't have the full list of prizes together yet, but I can say that Microsoft seems to be the biggest donor this month around. They've given us nearly 50 bits of gaming euphoria from 360 games, to Live subscriptions, T-shirts and even wireless controllers. We also have some cool stuff from NCSoft and Nintendo. Oh, and we'll be giving out our E3 swag as well. I'll try to put together a full list of goodies in the next day or two.

Today we will be giving out limited edition E305 Xbox 360 faceplate, copy of Blazing Angels and a 360 wireless controller.

The prizes will be all over the board and I'll make sure to announce them each morning.

Good luck and get to commenting because the contest is already under way.

<![CDATA[Numbers Game]]> Now that I've cemented my name in the annals of being a bastard, or the list of right bastards or the big book of bastards, I've come to rub it in. My bastard contest concoction is still running. That's right you still have the rest of the week to do fun things like find the square of very large numbers and multiply stuff together and figure out just what the hell the Julian calendar is. For me, that's right up there with eating cotton candy and babies...um-just cotton candy. Are my horns showing?

In my defense, you are competing for a pretty choice list of DS games and a DS Lite.

<![CDATA[DS Lite and WiFi Game Pack Give-Away]]> Alrighty, you guys have been asking for us to make the Friday Night Lites contest hard, like really hard, to cut down on the number of people who get the answer right. Last time around we managed to reduce the right answers from more than a thousand to about 400. This time I'm trying for single to double digits, mostly because I'm a bastard.

This week around we're giving out the Nintendo WiFi pack. Here's what you'll win: A Polar White DS Lite, DS Lite case, Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing: Wild World and Metroid Prime Hunters.

To enter you need to email your answer to kotakucontest@gmail.com with the answer in the subject line. Make sure the answer is in the subject line, as in the... subject line.

OK, here's the question, it's a multipart math problem. Seriously.

First: How much was the Alienware computer I priced out while looking into replacing my dead, dead, dead desktop.

Second: The date I went and checked out the PSP Kiosk and wrote it up... converted into a Julian date (Go ahead and put all zeros for the time.)

Third: The total cost of all of the Guinness beers shown in the picture Florian took with the Black DS Lite he secured for our final contest. Round the price to the nearest dollar, U.S. dollar. (Yes, you're going to have to sorta guesstimate on this one)

Finally: Take all of those number, multiply them by one another, get their square root and then divide by 10,000.

The closest answer wins, in the case of a tie we will do a random drawing to select the winner. Make sure your answer includes five decimal places, just to make sure you're as close as possible.

We'll select the winner next weekend.

<![CDATA[Winner of the Fourth DS Lite]]> Wow, I totally forgot to draw a winner for our latest DS Lite contest. Sorry about that. Fortunately, I had ONE BILLION, GAZILLION readers there to remind me. :)

OK, so congratulations to Shawn H for being selected from the 433 readers who got both Escape From Hell and Fire Emblem as the names of the games we were showing in our screen shots. The cocky bastard even included this message in his entry:

did I win, or did I win?

Yes Shawn, you won a Polar White DS Lite, DS Lite case, Electroplankton, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (GBA), Dynasty Warriors Advance (GBA) and Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (GBA).

Fret not, I'll be posting our last contest up of the month in the bit and it's stinking hard. So if you get it right, your odds should be pretty damn good. Also keep in mind that at the end of the month we will be giving away a sexy black DS Lite to one of the people who entered any of the month's contests.

<![CDATA[Win a DS Lite and Games Galore]]>

This week's Friday Night Lites contest is a bit harder, you have to check out a bunch of screens from two role-playing games and identify them.

The good news is that less people will probably get the answer right, so if you're one of them you have a better chance of winning. And this week's prize is a doozy. The Rock and Role-Playing prize pack comes with: A Polar White DS Lite, DS Lite case, Electroplankton, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (GBA), Dynasty Warriors Advance (GBA), Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (GBA).

Hit the link for the full rules and the gallery.

<![CDATA[Friday Night Lites Round 4: Rock and Role-Playing]]> This week's DS lite contest is a little different: Instead of a trivia question, this week's contest involves identifying the two role-playing games picture in our gallery below. One is pretty easy—the other is going to cause some wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Here's a hint: We're heard but cannot confirm that it shared an engine with a post-apocalyptic classic.)

Think you've got the answers? Send one—and only one—email to kotakucontest@gmail.com with your answer as the subject. One entry per person, per week. And remember if you don't win this week's contest, you'll still be in the running for the grand prize, which includes an imported black DS lite.

This week's prize pack includes: Polar White DS Lite, DS Lite case, Electroplankton, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (GBA), Dynasty Warriors Advance (GBA), Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (GBA)

<![CDATA[Friday Night Lites Round 3 Winner!]]> So we're a little late announcing this week's 'Friday Night Lites' winner. Sorry about that! The winner, as selected by Random.org, is Mike Richards, who was one of hundreds who provided the correct answer: LOOM. (All-caps optional.)

(The trivia question, in case you forgot it: Although some might look for me in West Virginia - I've lived in fair, misty towns - Moriarty's puzzle rose above the scum to weave my draft. What am I?

Congratulations, Mike. And if you were the winner of one of the previous weeks' contests, you should be getting your DS lite prize pack any day now. Take a picture and let us see you rolling around in your glorious haul.

Tomorrow: Week Four's 'Rock and Role-Playing' giveaway, with Polar White DS Lite, DS Lite case, Electroplankton, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (GBA), Dynasty Warriors Advance (GBA), Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (GBA)

<![CDATA[Reminder: Last Day To Enter To Win Third DS Lite!]]> One very last reminder: you've only got a few hours left to get your entry in for our DS Lite 'Critter Pack' contest before we pick a winner randomly from the guys who either came up with the answer honestly or paid some random internet stranger for the answer.

As an added note, if you really want the answer so bad that you're willing to part with that soggy seven dollars you've got stuffed into your sock, just cut out the middle man next time and send it directly to us. We're professional bloggers: as a snooty light-fixture salesman once told me, that's practically shorthand for 'unemployed'. I personally live in an empty, army-sized can of beans, my only pastime getting drunk on turpentine. What I'm trying to say is that we are all easily bribed.

For those of you who choose to be honest about it, here's the riddle one more time: Although some might look for me in West Virginia - I've lived in fair, misty towns - Moriarty's puzzle rose above the scum to weave my draft. What am I? If you know the answer, mail us.

<![CDATA[Reminder: DS Lite 'Critter Pack' Give-Away]]> Quick reminder that you've got until tomorrow afternoon to enter our DS Lite Critter Pack Giveaway contest. If you've got the answer to the riddle, send it in!

Also: it has come to our attention that some people have been 'cheating' on the puzzle. Well, not really cheating, but definitely not figuring it out for themselves.

I personally have nothing but sympathy. If Kotaku employees want a chance at winning the DS Lite, our course is clear: sleep with Crecente. Thirty seconds of crying into a pillow later and we're there. It's relatively easy. But you poor souls: you have to twist your noodles to the task of solving a puzzle so difficult it would challenge a Cylon.

Never the less, please try to come up with the answer for yourselves... or, at least, cheat a bit more surreptitiously. Not only is it more fun that way, but if you're silly enough to cheat in a way that can be Googled, you're actually degrading your chances of winning the DS Lite, not increasing them, because every other idiot out there will be just as able to dig it up.

And if you're degrading your chances to win a regular Nintendo DS Lite pack, you're also degrading your chances to win the Euro Black DS Lite I'll be sending out next week.

Please don't cheat. Or pay good money to cheat. It's less fun and pretty much fucks you over in the long run. Plus, Crecente has been putting a lot of effort into these great puzzles and it makes him cry. Good luck, guys!

<![CDATA[Reminder: Two Days Left To Enter Third DS Lite Give-Away]]> A hot reminder to all of you that there's less than 60 hours left to solve Sphinx Crecente's obtuse little riddle and win yourself a Polar White DS Lite (not that you Yanks have another option), a DS Lite case, Pok mon Dash, Pok mon Trozei, Pok mon Sapphire (GBA), Yoshi Topsy-Turvy (GBA), and Yoshi Touch & Go.

Just solve this riddle: Although some might look for me in West Virginia - I've lived in fair, misty towns - Moriarty's puzzle rose above the scum to weave my draft. What am I?

Here's a hint: think like Crecente! Apply egg whites with a paint brush to your glossy, flowing mane! Write some Rocky Mountain News pieces, then submit them to us as tips! Meet Joystiq in a biker bar and smash your hob-nailed boot right through the AOL tattoo imprinted upon their slightly bulbous foreheads.

When you've got the answer, email us: kotakucontest@gmail.com. You can enter only once a week and everyone who submits a correct answer will get a chance to find out my home address when I send you a sleek, ebony DS Lite straight from Europe at the end of the month.

<![CDATA[The Third DS Lite Give-Away]]> It's time for Week Three of Kotaku's Friday Night Lites Nintendo DS lite giveaway. This week brings us the Critters pack: Polar White DS Lite, DS Lite case, Pok mon Dash, Pok mon Trozei, Pok mon Sapphire (GBA), Yoshi Topsy-Turvy (GBA), Yoshi Touch & Go.

Enter once—and only once—by sending in your email to kotakucontest@gmail.com with your answer in the subject. You can enter once a week, and each time you enter with a correct answer will put you in the running for the grand prize, which includes an Euro-import Black DS lite.

This week's trivia quesiton: Although some might look for me in West Virginia - I've lived in fair, misty towns - Moriarty's puzzle rose above the scum to weave my draft. What am I?

Send in your correct answer by midnight Friday to be entered into the random selection pool. Exciting!

Good luck!

<![CDATA[Friday Night Lites Round 2 Winner!]]> Congratulations to Korey Bell, the winner of this week's Friday Night Lites contest. The answer to Crecente's riddle, "Who's the biggest, Class-A bad ass in Avalon?" was: "Ash."

Guessed correctly by over a thousand people and selected at random by random.org, Korey Bell will be receiving his DS lite prize pack as soon as he wakes up and sends me his shipping information.

Check back next week for Round Three, featuring a trivia question generated by yours truly.

<![CDATA[Nintendo World Store Midnight Madness: First US DS lite Sales]]> Want to be the first person in the US to legitimately purchase a DS lite? Nintendo has just let us know that this Saturday they'll be holding a 'midnight madness' sale at the Nintendo World Store in Manhattan. Wait in line in the rain for your chance to pick up the handheld you were too slow to sneak out of Target last week.

Even better, Nintendo tells us that the first 100 people to buy a DS lite will get a carrying case and a copy of Brain Age. I'll be going to a supper club in Brighton Beach, so depending on how the vodka is treating me I might just train it up there and see if I can't get one for myself.

P.S. If you're looking for confirmation about this on Nintendo's site, it's not up there yet. But we're not lying... you hope.

P.P.S. Oh crap, I almost forgot. While I'm down here wasting post-script, don't forget to enter in Kotaku's own Friday Night Lites contest for your chance to win a DS lite of your own, all free-like.
