We've posted this video before, but we're posting it again because it just came to our attention that Freetar Hero, the PC game/tool that allows you to program your own Guitar Hero songs, has been released into beta.

Unfortunately, it still doesn't support the Guitar Hero controller and, frankly, standing on my computer chair jumping up and down while thrashing the keyboard isn't nearly as satisfying. Still, I want you guys to download it and get recording: when Freetar Hero does utilize the GH controller, I expect to be able to immediately jump in and play Hide's Psyence. FLORIAN ECKHARDT

Last week, we reported on VGSPlayer, which will allow you to strum along to Guitar Hero songs to practice them in an environment when virtual avatars aren't booing you.
