    Isn't this a sort of "duh" statement? Some types of games can help promote mental activity and thus battle the onset of ailments that come with old age.


    Crosswords, sudoku, cryptos...why not games?


    Provided it's going to be SOME games, and not ALL games. (Tactical games moreso than FPS for example)

    In my day, we fragged each other at 28.8 Baud! Polygons, schmolygons... we had SPRITES! And by damn, we LOVED it!


    We sat for hours, refreshing our BBS of choice, salivating for the shareware copy of Wolfenstein 3D! Just to have somebody call in the middle of downloading, and we had to start all over! It put hair on our chests!

    I have a friend who inherited his granddads PS2 after he sadly passed away.


    I bet there's plenty of older folk interested in gaming, they just don't make such a noise about it. Reading the UK's teletext gaming service, they often have letters from 60+ year olds. It seems like the ideal activity for those less physically able.
