I haven't seen any reason to think that. Usually, graphics between PS3 games and Xbox games are comparable, and if they aren't, it's hardly Microsoft's fault. From what I've heard, the content itself is exactly the same between the two, which is why the Xbox version is going to be on multiple discs.
If you think Microsoft is wrong in bringing you this game, then you can get the PS3 version, which I'm sure won't be any different.

Sure, both versions are going to be exactly the same, because a multi-platform release agreement states that they have to be. If any feature was expanded on one platform but not on the other it would persuade consumers to swarm to a certain isle of BestBuy during launch. Can't have that.
Don't get me wrong, I think its great that both platforms are getting it, that means millions more Final Fantasy fans that get to play a series they haven't seen due to Platform loyalty. That will of course promote the development of more Final Fantasies, really its a win win scenario for everyone. However, to claim that if Microsoft's lawyers were out of the picture that the PS3 version would be absolutely identical to what we are going to see in a few months is just nonsense.
Companies demand all the time that a product will perform identically to a competitors when negotiating licensing agreements, often watering down functionality to satisfy every party involved. Sadly, that practice has extended to gaming now as well.

However, the M$ site doesn't give much detail either, and it did let me re-register when I have already registered once to tweet the promo.
Just my perception of how it's written.

I just've registered right now but the "unlock" bar has already reached the lock and this message appeared:
"A free Xbox LIVE Avatar item for Final Fantasy XIII has been unlocked! Claim yours at [xbox.com] #FFXIIIXBOX"
So that means I just have to wait to claim the item? No retweet at all?

Maybe I'm just imagining it, but doesn't the simple chocobo themes of the past kick the crap out of this one?

Damn, I can dig it.

But, I think this track will work in the end if the overworld is expansive enough to support such a lengthy rendition.
And, honestly, the track has grown on me. It sounds like a faithful homage done in a playfully adult way.
I sure hope the rest of the OST can deliver.

As a piece it is all right. But the problem is that because of the complexity it's not memorable.
Tracks like this, I might notice them once. And then they'd fade to white noise during gameplay.

Awesome video, but they didn't get the right one for FFVII, FFVIII or IX. VII's is the chocobo farm theme, VIII's is the one taken from the Chicobo minigame, and IX's was taken from Chocobo's Paradise.
Still, awesome to listen to!
The one for XIII sucks, sadly. Makes me sick, to be completely honest. Smooth jazz for the fucking LOSE. I've been so pumped for XIII for ages (have been an FF fan forever) but the more I see of it, the less I like it.
Still...I'm hoping it has some redeeming features that will make it worthwhile.

This seriously sounds like corporate Christmas party music. Ughhhh.

The timing is important though a track this complex/long serves no purpose if your riding for only 30s-1min at a given time since you won't even have time to hear that familiar jingle.

Thanks @josh924 for sparing me and posting the correct link.
I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions but it wouldn't have surprised me if this had actually been region locked.
I am so annoyed whenever Canada gets techno-capped for no good reason. Especially when the companies involved don't acknowledge that the advertising, promotion and hype for their products and services are ever-present in a region they don't adequately support.
We don't get last.fm or Netflix on Live; Pandora or Hulu are only mythological entities; iTunes Card credits can't be spent on apps...grrr!
But we get Telus branded gamer pics, Rogers' ad-laden themes and I can download episodes of Being Erica and Rick Mercer Report from the Zune Marketplace so why complain right?

And yeah, as ThirzaLepidus brought up, 1/4 of the existing main-series FF games had disc-swapping (1/2 of the disc-based main series FF games) and I don't remember people complaining about those.

@Platypus Man: Thing is it's not purely a problem with the physical act of swapping the discs.
It means the game is fragmented across 4 separate discs. Which if you remember back to the old game the plot was broken out to accommodate this. So you'd have various towns n such locked out from you because they get magically destroyed for whatever reason suited the game. Because that means on the next disc you can use the space that town took up with a new town.
It makes the non-linear parts a PIA to implement.
FFXII was open world, you were locked off from advancing to certian areas to early, but at the end of the game you could go back to everywhere you had been before. No towns been blown up by Leviathan, or invaded by Archadian army blocking me from entering.
And having the game on several discs is 5th gen. It just removes the past generation of advances in free-form stories n open worlds. It means that shit needs to get cut by the end of the game, or 360 guys are going to be getting off their couch each time they go to a new town.

A celebration, to last throughout the years!
11/25/09
I played through Lost Odyssey, which had its 4 discs split linearly across the game. I've heard bad things about Star Ocean 4, but from what I've heard, a lot of that is just poor planning and programming on their part and isn't typical of most multi-disc games.
And even if it is, if it's a good enough game, I'll deal with it.
