It's getting harder and harder to find well written articles like this. I enjoy something that takes the time to look at the both sides of something and realizes the truth is somewhere in the middle.
Well, once I have kids (if I have kids), I won't let them play games very much until they're 8 years old, since that's when I started. I won't let them play online games until they're in high school, because I don't want them turning into those little Xbox live cockbags we all hate. And I'll have them start with the classics, so they have more of a perspective on whatever space-age virtual reality computer-chip-in-brain games they have by then.

While I somewhat agree with this statement, I think if you take the time to play online with your kid, and raise them correctly, it should be easy to avoid this pitfall.
Also, I'm probably not going to be able to keep my child from playing games till a certain age. She's still under a year old but knows how to hold the controller correctly even though she can't reach all the buttons. It's just mimicking right now but I can see that she wants to play with daddy and it'll be hard to say no.
