@-MasterDex-: Truly. I was getting geared up for Sept 3rd, went and bought MS points for it, and then the day arrived. I was hoping for at least 4 hours. It went online, I saw that the d/l was 1GB in size, and I was like 'Uh, ok... ?'. I knew it would be short, but before I completed it I heard rumblings from the F2 forums, about how it lasted about an hour. Sure enough, it did.
Wow, timely. I just bought a used copy of FEAR 2 for $6 from gamefly (using a bunch of saved up coupons). Seemed decently-enough reviewed to be worth the price of lunch...
You can tell it's real because SCIENCE! is capitalized. SCIENCE! Making the world better one problem at a time!
Also, I can't wait to play some Slo-mo Deathmatch in FEAR 2. Woot!
I don't think these people have yet realized that their mediocre game FEAR 2 was nothing like the first and should be working their asses off to make FEAR 3 better than the first game. They took all the horror out of the franchise and the AI got dumbed down. This game was patchetic compared to the first one they should be ashamed of themselves. It plays more like a mediocre FPS and that is very bad.
Bad 80's acting in commercials and a workout montage? This certainly breaks the image of what F.E.A.R 2 is supposed to represent.
That is until I see Alma appearing out of nowhere making me crap my pants T__T

I just finished FEAR 2 off Gamefly 10 days this month. I really thought it lacked in so many areas and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out why it got the reviews it did.
It's SOOOOO easy, even on the hardest setting, because you have the "win" button of slowing or your reflexes. You ALWAYS have the weapon and ammo you need, there's health and armor lying every five steps, the A.I. is pretty stupid, and the level design is SO "funnel you down a hallway". All story-based shooters are linear to an extent, but this one is ridiculous. You know how in COD 4 or Halo 3, you follow a set path through the level, but it FEELS wide open at times. There's at least the illusion of a true world at some points. I kept saying "Ah, I'm out of the hallway. great" And then I'd walk across the street and go right back inside another boring warehouse-y building.

I love the ads Monolith has done for F.E.A.R 2.
Now, the big question: Are we (PC gamers) paying for this?

After that video I think the $10 is totally justified.

No thanks.

I agree with much of what you said except for the AI. F.E.A.R. is up there with STALKER, Crysis, and Halo as far as the best AI in FPSs.
I thought the best part of the game was the weird new graphical/ghost effects, it was pretty amazing at times.

I'll be getting this, sure, but for crying out loud; let us mod.
