Awhile back Crecente detailed the first
Guild Wars expansion,
Eye of the North, which features the whole new continent of Tyria, brimming with new quests, 18 large dungeons, 150 news skills...more just about everything that's kept Guild Wars players coming back long after I gave up the game. While the expansion was originally slated for a holiday release, it looks like the holidays are starting early this year. The expansion that looks to connect Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 together is now set to hit stores across the US and Europe on August 31st.
"Guild Wars has one of the most committed and loyal player bases I've ever seen, and Guild Wars: Eye of the North is our way of delivering prized content to veteran players and creating a link to the future of Guild Wars," said Jeff Strain, co-founder of ArenaNet.
The expansion will carry a price tag of $39.99, and if history is any indicator you can be sure that NCsoft will have a pretty damn spiffy collectors edition on the shelves as well, so I can get yet another art book I never look at and maybe another new headset. Woot!.
