Tomb Raider Underword DLC Was Meant To Be In Original Game |

A lot of us have expressed this fear about the implications of DLC. And we were laughed at. Laughed at, I tells ya!

We often get special edition DVDs with extra footage or new endings, and people aren't whining that they didn't get to see all of it in the theater.
If you feel that the game wasn't long enough or deep enough without the DLC -- that's legitimate, but DLC is optional. If you want to send a message, don't buy it.

Not to sound like an ass but a lot of developers I think intentionally leave stuff out as DLC. It might come from corporate heads but it is what it is. Best thing to curtail this sort of nonsense is to NOT buy it...

I suppose that, with more time, they could have implemented an option to save the movies onto the HDD as you unlocked them in the game, but would they even have bothered, even if given the time?

I don't mind swapping. Let's go back to floppy.

Oh what you said rings true. Who would hire him if they knew he would spout "secrets" or whatnot once he left...
Not saying Eidos is right here but you all know where I'm coming from right?

I'm all for content that is created because the developers and artists had more in them that they thought was of value. Also it's great when consumer feedback helps shape the DLC (think Rock Band 2's plethora of tracks, as chosen in large by we, the people).
Down with fake DLC and long live real DLC, I say!

If they couldn't make it in time for release, I say release the content as DLC. If they cut it so it could be used as DLC, I say they should BURN.

But it's interesting to see these guys speaking so candidly. Eidos must've really given them the boot, and hard, to make them talk so openly. If any of this is true, that is.

I'll have to get around to playing Underworld someday, but I haven't turned on either the 360 or PS3 in a month, and my backlog is large enough as it is without Lara.
These days, the extent of my gaming-related activities is reduced to the time I spend on Kotaku (unless you also count putting games and systems in cardboard boxes as a gaming-related activity - I hate moving out)... :(
