Well, it's nice to know they've added this functionality. I'm not too big on comparing trophies with other players since I'm generally not very competitive, but I do like to check up on my own progress every now and again.

@Archaotic: I'm the same way. One of the only gold trophies I have happened accidentally. I changed hard drives, and when I re-loaded the information for the additional quizzes I had purchased on Buzz!, suddenly, I had somehow won 200 games of online competitive trivia netting me a gold, silver and bronze trophy. I've never even gone online with the game!

Platinum trophies? Don't make me laugh. Maybe if I remove and then re-install my own spleen...

@TitillatedOcelot: Yeah, I don't have any platinums either. I'm just not that dedicated, not anymore. Especially with no classic-style JRPGs on the system.
Maybe I'll do one on FF13 or Versus. I tend to do EVERYTHING there is to do in the Kingdom Hearts games, so Versus would make sense.

@Archaotic: I have two platinums from Godfather II and Legend of WrestleMania. LoW had 20 painfully easy trophies and Godfather's trophies could be done in a single playthrough such was their simplicity.

@MCX405: Most of the games I have have really frustratingly hard trophies, like SF4 or BlazBlue.
I could pull off Demon's Souls' platinum, but it'd take me WEEKS, if not months, to do it, and by the time I'd be finished, the US version would be out and I'd have to start over. Weapon synthesis in that game takes a while.

Some developers need to work on their trophy icons. I enjoy achievements simply because they're almost like little scout badges and each one is (generally) unique. Although I imagine some of the early 360 games had a single image for every one.
Basically, I'm looking at you Sucker Punch with your lame inFamous trophy icons!

@Archaotic: A funny title for that is Noby Noby Boy. If you collect all of the trophies, GIRL, made of all the icons, will stretch down the screen. That's probably the best use of the icons I've seen yet. Still haven't gotten around to picking up BllazBlue:CT though....

Actually I've never seen that before, because I really, really don't care at all about trophies..and because I've never bothered to visit Sony's website.
Is that more the fault of Sony for not making it interesting enough for a lazy bastard like me, or a fault of mine for being a lazy bastard?
    Well it's Sony's of course.

@Bisu: The PSN sigs with trophy info background and such isn't really bad if you want to post it on forums. I've made one but don't really use it anywhere still it doesn't look bad and there's customization options which might be minimal but yeah. Though it's a much bigger image file.
Speaking from the EU PSN sigs with trophy info that was launched over a month ago I think.

They should add a numerical value to each trophy, call it a Playstation Score, so instead of saying "Oh, I've got 6 gold trophies, 43 silver trophies and 321 bronze trophies" they could just say "I've got a score of 8000"
    Much simpler, and totally original.

Yeah, I agree. I mean, if scaled right, its much more interesting to have a few gold trophies than a bunch of achievements.

High point cheevs dont exactly always equal difficult achievements, but with the trophies done right, the difficulty is right in the kind of trophy you have to show off.

Awesome. The old portable ID was pathetically barren. Now what they need to do is update the avatar choices. No one likes the ones we have. No one. At all. Ever.Someone on the offical PS forums has made good ones for Sony to implement, but they remain unseen by anyone who can do something about it..

I'm glad Sony is continually building on what it already has, unfortunately, they're taking their sweet time. Their portable IDs were very boring only displayed your name, your avatar and your status message (if you had one). This made Sony gamers seek other websites to manually input their trophies, etc.

Now, let's add some of those PS2 games to that store of yours, huh?
