Earlier this morning Kotaku reported on concerns from members of the Entertainment Consumers Association over the organization's membership renewal policies. ECA president Hal Halpin now offers his response, blaming exploiters for the majority of the issues at hand.
Does the Entertainment Consumer Association have the consumer's best interests at heart? The inability to turn off auto-renew for memberships and limiting cancellation requests to snail mail would have users checking the "No" box, if it was actually functional.
The Entertainment Consumers Association will now support chapter organizations created by its members, it announced today. The ECA hopes to create new networks by which consumers within the same area can connect with one another, participate in ECA-sponsored LAN parties, fundraisers and other events.
