It's a word that's synonymous with video games, but let's be real: outside of some niche genres the joystick has been dead and buried as a viable control method for well over a decade now.
Reminder: Elite, Star Citizen and EVE Valkyrie aren't the only promising space shooters in development. There's an underdog pinging away on the fringes of the scene, and that underdog is Enemy Starfighter.
While big projects like Star Citizen an Elite: Dangerous are getting all the money (and press attention), they aren't the only space games you should be keeping an eye on. There's also Enemy Starfighter, which for months has been looking very, very cool.
So last year we got a look at a game called Enemy Starfighter. By combining the space action of Lucasarts' classic X-Wing series with both the visual style and strategy of Homeworld, it looked too good to be true.
It's a dream combination, I know, so it's weird it's taken this long to do it. But hey, Enemy Starfighter is just that: a space combat game with the art style (and some ship design influence) from the Homeworld series.
