Hmm the game must be very chronally themed. I got a feeling of that from the trailer and the name. Basel was probably chosen as the name (not for its university or pharmaceuticals) but possibly because of the watchmakers convention - Baselworld. #resonanceoffate

    @WhatTheFrag:
:) More references. Isn't Basel a town in Switzerland, that has a huge clock-making industry?

Also seems like a homage of some sort to Asimov's novel about the timeless guild. ..That was called End of Eternity, like the book. #resonanceoffate

@nipsen: yup. It has a huge convention though - I'm not sure but I think Pharamceuticals is overtaking it but traditionally clocks are what I think it's famous for :).

Oh right, I totally forgot about that book, well yeah that's definitely time-travel and 'eternity' based.

So can anyone tell me what the deal with this game's name is?

Why "Resonance of Fate" outside of Japan? I mean does it really sound any less ridiculous than "End of Eternity"? I really fail to see the logic here. #resonanceoffate

Since any and all Sega threads draw people clamoring for a Yakuza 3 western release, I'd like to ask some questions to you all:

    1. Did you purchase any of the Yakuza games NEW during their first week of release?
    2. If not, did you purchase any of the Yakuza games NEW at all?

DAMN RIGHT! More Tri-Ace is awesome! SE have been relasing some RPG's at least. Sega have released....for consoles what? Valkyria Chronicles? thats pretty much all i can think of. And thats not even a proper JRPG.

Looks great, just keep this game away from the voice actors you used in Star Ocean 4.

(I'm so tempted to use the phrase "kay"...aww damn)

@notquitedeadyet: 4 has better voice acting than 3 did. There is one character equal to Farlene but aside from that, everyone's fairly acceptable unless you just dislike their base personalities, which means language wouldn't matter in the first place.
Lymle saying kay at the end of everything isn't something just added on by the voice actor. They came up with an acceptable translation/localization for something she did in Japanese. She acts exactly the same there.

@Gun Metal Gray: And that's why we beg and plead for Japanese voice tracks. Because voices aren't nearly as annoying that way. I'll take english ones when they're passable but lately I have had to switch to JP more often than I'd like.
If they didn't have JP voices for Sonic Unleashed, I would have sold it faster than the DSi is selling... like hotcakes...

I think that's awesome that Sega is supportive of my favorite RPG developer, but I'd rather have Sega put their money towards a sequel to Skies of Arcadia for 360 or PS3 with Valkyria Chronicles like graphics and have it developed by Sega WOW.
Pretty, pretty, pretty please SEGA.... =)

@Witzbold: they should go for it. The quality of games is coming along a lot better than they're attempted rehashes. Unfortunately consumers seem to be treading too lightly. As much of a failure sonic is in gameplay, it must still make money for them to want to develop it. So i guess mass buying of crappy sega games by the masses = them taking a chance on the crowd that made them grow.
I still won't by a sonic or phantasy star game until it feels better though.
This news does reinstill some hope in sega.
