@Ethereus: It's like a marketing agency where the artists run the asylum rather than the stats folks. I really doubt the game itself will explore renaissance Catholicism's conceptions of sin and Dante's response. I am curious about how the game will present the virtuous pagans - a thorny issue in Dante's time.
I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel, too: EA/Bioware presents Milton's Paradise Lost: an antediluvian RPG.
That woman looks just like Ashley in the first ME. If I take the path to bone Miranda, will I get the option to accidentally scream "AAAASHLEEEEYYY!!" right when it fades to black?
I want the CE, but I can't find anywhere to preorder it in Canada! Oh the humanity! (Same thing happened with ME1, CE wasn't announced until last minute, only available from one retailer, and quickly sold out)
So, The Saboteur is still being made, right? Because I was really looking forward to that one. I hope that's one of the IPs being absorbed into EA Los Angeles.
Not cool! When I saw "Sledgehamer games" my mind immediately jumped to David Rasche, but I logically ruled it out. Then I saw the pic and my mind raced a second time.
What happened to the evocative simplicity of the original Mass Effect's box art? Why does Bioware apparently feel the need to make it look like cover art you'd see on a cheesy young adult sci-fi softcover in the bargain aisle at a used bookstore?
This is way too busy, and it makes Shepard look like a refugee from the cover art to a gimmicky budget futuristic football game. #masseffect2
@juc: True, but I was just stating my own opinion. It's not my problem if it's incompatible with those of all the morons out there who disagree with me. ;)
@forgecat: I do like the CE box art. I'm not into CE's generally, but I'm considering pre-ordering this one so I don't have to be so embarrassed when friends browse through my game collection. #masseffect2
@MrGOH: In before everyone takes you seriously and starts raging.
But yeah, I agree, honestly. When it comes to box art, there will always be naysayers. In this case, however, I'm one of them. This cover art is decent, but as was stated in another comment, not everyone uses the default Shepard face (and not everyone is even male, for that matter) and it would be good to have cover art that recognizes that. #masseffect2
Oh god...
I read somewhere else earlier today that this was the final box art for America as well, but I was hoping that the other website was wrong and Kotaku was right...
I don't get why people hated the first concept so much; I thought it was fine.
But this one is downright horrible! And it doesn't even come close to resembling the original's cover stylistically.
Luckily for me, I'm planning to get this for PC through Steam, so I won't have to lay eyes on the physical form of this horror! #masseffect2
@Fieldy: I loved ME1's box art- it was interesting and looked like the sort of thing well-suited for an epic adventure. You had the Geth, Saren, and even the Normandy flyin' around.
This artwork would be alright if not for Miranda. The first thing I noticed about the cover was how cheesy the wind-swept hair looks- and then I saw how everyone looks scrunched in there. And then I noticed how odd Miranda's face looks.
Not okay. I liked ME1's box art and even kinda liked what we thought was the original artwork. Thank God I pre-ordered the CE tonight. #masseffect2

There's honestly no pleasing people when it comes to box arts.
It's too flashy, too conservative, too plain, too grey, too something. #masseffect2

This just looks like a generic action movie poster with an alien.
Either way, it doesn't change the fact that I'm buying this game day 1. It's just cover art after all. #masseffect2

EA "we fired everyone at pandemic but just wanted all their fans to know that we are going to keep using the pandemic name to sell you stuff."
thanks EA... #pandemicstudios
