Luke already wrote a bit about Eidolon, the zombie-less, crafting-free survival game, but I figured I'd give it a try as well. The game is massive and mysterious, a ringing, pristine silence after a disaster. It really is incredible to explore, even if not a lot happens sometimes. Watch my video and see for yourself.
Survival games are normally bleak affairs. Tense, unforgiving simulations of desperation and death. So why is it that playing Eidolon, a survival game, feels so...peaceful?
Don't let the nice, sharp colors and shiny polygons distract you, though. It's hard to survive in post-apocalyptic America.
