@Gorilla Snow is Maximum Risky: Green beans are awesome! Whoever doesn't eat them needs to get acquainted with a little something called extra-virgin olive oil, the one true jewel of the Mediterranean.
That's officially the saddest excuse for a cookie ever. I wish I was joking, but that really is worse than the turd-splats they serve you in Starbucks.
@Stevil_T: Just be thankful you could tell it was a cookie right off the bat. I sat here next to puking wondering what the hell was in his Salisbury steak...
Also, this should remind all well cooked steaks to smile for pictures.
@4nonymo: That was a steak?! I just spent five mins with the missus trying to work out what that was!
I like the fact that there's also a plastic knife and fork. I haven't seen a man or woman cut through a well done steak with plastic knives before...or ever will. I know times are tough, but...*shakes head*
@Stevil_T: I'm seeing at least 40 chocolate chips in that cookie, and that's just the ones viewable at the surface. Assuming a 4 inch diameter (estimated from the picture), which gives us an approximate cookie area of 6.28 square inches, that's a CtC (Chip to Cookie) ratio of at least 6.37 chips per square inch of cookie. Unfortunately, due to the angle of the image, I am unable to estimate the height of the cookie, so I can't provide a CCtC (Cubic Chip to Cookie) ratio, but a CtC of 6.28 is definitely in the good eating territory.
@Gorilla Snow is Maximum Risky: In that case we got with the original estimate of a CtC of 6.37 for the cookie. If we plug this into the cookie spectrum we can extrapolate a potential deliciousness probability (PDP). Going from a Chips Ahoy (1000 chips delicious) to sugar cookie:
Cookie Aprox. CtC PDP
Chips Ahoy 10.00 .94
EA Cookie 6.37 .73
Grandma's Cookies (average) 5.13 .58
Peanut-Butter with Kiss 0.70 .70
Sugar 0.00 .50
Although a low CtC count does not necessarily indicate an undesirable cookie, a high count almost always indicates a high PDP. Assuming that the cookie itself is crunchy as you suspect, then a higher CtC ratio would actually increase its PDP due to the inherent deliciousness of chocolate.
@Cururu: I believe you're making a terrible judgment call basing deliciousness solely on the amount of chocolaty chips and not considering the consistency of the dough or how well it was baked. If Chips Ahoy tops your tasty rankings, then I suggest you develop a greater test base by eating more cookies. :^)
@Cururu: Don't bother with bullet point formatting, either. I found that out myself yesterday.
Glad to hear this, although it's not that rare that a PS3 version is superior to the 360 version in terms of performance or goodies *cough* Grand Theft Auto IV, Bioshock, Eternal Sonata, Unreal Tournament 3, Street Fighter IV, *cough*
Glad to hear this though. Maybe I'll pick it up when it comes out.
Though, for PS3, mouse-and-keyboard support should be a mandatory addition. Seriously.
If they just added mouse-and-keyboard support for LittleBigPlanet, who knows how much more that would improve the creation community.
I don't know about Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3) being the superior version. It's not that different from the 360 at all, plus it doesn't have the exclusive downloadable content. The same can be said about Bioshock (PS3) as well, it's not that different from the 360 version either.
its not often one comes to Kotaku and read a decidedly pro-PS3 article. hmmm...nice. still, i have little interest in strategy games, and even less interest in strategy games on non-PCs. kudos to EA though, for yet again getting it right with a PS3 port.
@Ben9: Of course both titles you are referring to came out in 2007 around the same time as the new development tools came out for the PS3 and developers get increasingly better the longer they do their jobs. The industry as a whole know more about PS3 development than they did back then.
I find it annoying that everyone remembers a couple of bad Sony ports but forget the extremely bad XBOX to 360 ports at the beginning of the 360's life cycle. Does nobody remember Tiger Woods 06 on the 360 or Splinter Cell": DA.
Not to mention they're easy to port to the Xbox 360/PC. Seriously if 3rd parties want to have a painless time making makes for multiple consoles, then it'll probably be the best to make the PS3 as your lead system. You get a wider audience, more money and more happy fans (if your games good). Win, win for everyone... except maybe MS who were happy leaving Sony in the cold through 2007-2008 ;P
@ShirleyTemple: Didn't the guys behind SF2THDR have a similar issue.
There will be problems porting games over the difference is while the PS3's different memory architecture is an issue that doesn't hold back the ports to 360, Microsoft's space limitation's are causing some developers to rethink massive parts of the game.
It's a good thing/bad thing for sony. They become the lead console for most multiplatform games but they are held back in terms of what developers can do with Microsoft's storage issues. For that reason though, some developers who want to create the bigger and better games, will do so on the PS3 exclusively.
And the beauty for them is, piracy is so far - a non issue on the PS3 where as on the 360 it is becoming more of an issue. Everyone that owns Metal Gear Solid bought it, the same can not be said for Gears of War.
I think that is amazing. I am happy the devs are actuallly putting effort into the project, instead of it being some half-ass port....*Cough*Orange Box*Cough*
@Elijah Xavier Norwood: The PS3 version of TF2 is not only light on features, but feels almost completely different. Like it's TF2 clothes on another man.
The only advantage it has over the 360 version is (sometimes) better players and the lobby system (in contrast, the 360 version is superior in almost every way).
Compared to the PC, the consoles are superior in one way only: the community. It's weird, but not a lot of people play 360-TF2 (even less for PS3-TF2). It's still active, but there's only about 30-50 matches at any given time. It's easy to get to know people that way.
@CreamSodaSlurpee: There is a PS3 mouse that acts like a PS3 controller, enabling you to play games with a mouse that otherwise wouldn't let you. It's damn expensive though.
@WhitePoop: Yeah, as much as I'd like to get it, I have to get a few more FPS/RTS games for the PS3 to really justify it. Still, I would like to try MGO with a mouse. Someday...

This was the belief, but the Tekken team say they're having problems trying to port it to the 360 because of space issues.
