    You know, I really don't want to say that this game won't have zombies in it, since zombies are becoming a bit overused lately, but darn if it's not tempting to call Duke Nukem a zombie with as many times as he's remained in a state of Shrodenger's Video Game.



    Is he alive or dead? Who knows? We'll just have to open the (Gear)box and see if Duke's alive or dead.

    @Doeseph: I care. Games need more characters like Duke. Heroes these days, they hide behind masks, realism, and worst of all emotion. I want my straight up misogynistic, muscle bound, balls to the wall bad ass motherfucker spouting catchphrases as he bare-handedly tears down the Alien hordes without fear or remorse. Duke is the embodiment of his entire genre and his character reflects the way I wanna feel while playing a game. I refuse to watch him go down without a fight!

    I think at this point they should have to pay outlets to announce anything about the game. They've had more than several times the free coverage they deserve given what they've shown for it so far.

    I admire whoever still has the strength in them to give a shit about this game.


    Look, I had fun with Duke Nukem 3D like everybody else 13 years ago, but even if this thing gets made, what are the chances, realistically, that it won't suck?

    The FPS genre is already oversaturated and mostly stale. It's going to take more than strippers and a few 1990's action hero one-liners to make this game anything else than the industry's biggest joke.

    I don't think it's too surprising. Could this be the most hyped game ever? Hype sells a game. We know it does. If it ever had been released (assuming it was legitimately being developed and wasn't just a ruse to keep a sinking ship afloat) and did well, the gamble would have paid of hugely in the fact that it would have rekindled a franchise. Noting they probably wouldn't have made the money back on this game, but on the spin-offs and add-pn packs etc.

    @slamdance: Why would you want to boycott it? Have the developers or publishers wronged you in any way? Being in development a long time isn't really a valid reason, neither is overly extensive coverage in industry press.

    @MadMinstrel: I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of being tantalized with the prospect of finally getting my gritty palms on a Duke Nukem sequel, only to be tricked time and time again. It's either a testament for 3D Realm's penchant for fine detail, or the worst practical joke in videogame history. Quite frankly, given the chance, I wouldn't mind erasing this sad event from memory altogether. It's like they keep deciding to prolong development after their current technology becomes obsolete or something...

    @Insert clever moniker here: I share your sentiment. But not buying something because you lost interest is not the same as boycotting. Boycotting is when people who would normally be interested in the product decide not to buy for some reason or another, usually ideological in nature, in hopes that they will thereby force the manufacturer to correct their behaviour. It's impossible for 3D Realms to make their development cycle shorter now and press coverage of legal events concerning the product is not something they can influence or control. Therefore a boycott would be pointless.
