"Sure, not every voice actor or actress is a gamer, but isn't a game voice actor not owning a home console a lot like an film actor not owning a DVD player?"
I wouldn't say that. One is on a screen, and they spent months and months preparing, being on set, interacting with other people, etc. I'd say you'd need to study other actors and films. There are plenty of actors who never watch their own movies, though.

I need to remind myself to start listening to Dream Club radio. Don't care too much about Rui and the VA behind her (who's one of the main hosts of the show), but Setsu, on the other hand...
Not one of the attractive ones huh, no matter how hard i try my eye tends to go towards her fictional character. Although she has well armed ballistics though.
@RoFFL3s: Come on man lets not start handing out scores on how the lady looks. It's demeaning, but personally I think she looks cute.
I'm a romantic at heart. Or so I wish. T__T

@burtwonk: I prefer her pictures in the article. At any rate, you people have terribly high standards for belonging to a demographic that isn't exactly known for being comprised of models.
It's not so uncommon for video game voice actors to not have video games. There were a few in the Blizzcon 2009 StarCraft 2 voice actor panel who had never touched a game.
And that's just an example. The ones who do voice work for video games often come from a background in cartoons and such, just another gig for them.
@Firkraag: Here's something even odder. You know all those developers that create our games? Well more than half of them have never touched a video game ever in their lives. Some play WOW, but that's usually as far as it goes.
I think it'd make a great Kotaku article exploring that.

@(Zombie) Goldwings: The Old Dragon at Nintendo never played video games. The only one he would even attempt to try was a video game version of 'Go' released by Bullet Proof Software.
And up till the Wii and DS, Shiggy did not own a Nintendo system at home.
Ok, I know the man is pure legend in gaming history (even PC gamers owe something to him, despite how much they deny it, because PC gaming would have died too if the NES hadn't created an interest in games PERIOD) but... That just made my respect for the man drop a bit...
No... a lot. Take pride in your work, man... at least own your own work! After how much he complained about Rare, this knowledge makes that explosion even worse...
Hell, if I had stuck with game design, I'd want to own COMPETITORS' work, too... Figure out what works and what doesn't.

@Curse_Lily: unless it's a game published by Enterbrain (famitsu publisher), dating sims and the like always get 6-7 averages. They fucking gave Cross Channel a 6 average, and story/writing wise that blows 99% of 'games' out of the water.

What turned me off is that handbag: at that size I can only imagine she uses it for kidnapping babies.

@RoFFL3s: Maybe it's just the picture. Google told me this is her. Sure, it's all studioed up, but there is potential for beauty in all.
