Looking at this month's release schedule, it sure looks like a ton of DS games are coming out. After that, looks like the PS2 is getting the most new games, followed by the PS3. Talking To The DBZ: Burst Limit Demo

Looking to get your hand on the first Dragon Balls on the PS3 and Xbox 360? Atari has a demo up on Xbox Live right now for Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit, the series' first foray onto the current crop of cutting-edge consoles. The demo weighs in at under 500 megs and features two battles from the game's story mode, Goku versus long-haired guy and other long-haired guy versus those little green things. Yep, I am definitely up on my DBZ terminology. The demo is currently available on Xbox Live and should be up on PSN later today, Sony willing. While you wait, a metric ass-ton of screenshots.

Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit In Action

How much further can we take cel-shading? The first cell-shaded game, Jet Set Radio for the Xbox Dreamcast (whoops), completely knocked me on my ass with its (then) unique visual style, but since then the only game to do anything truly amazing with it was Capcom's Okami, which traded clean lines for brush strokes to create a unique artistic look. While Namco Bandai's Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit doesn't do anything truly innovative with cel-shading, it does manage to clean up those jaggy lines that have annoyed me in the past, presenting a style that's as clean as crisp as the process is likely to get.

Dragon Ball Z is finally taking the next-generation plunge (the Wii now officially doesn't count), as Atari announces the development of Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Due out later this year, the title promises to be an online DBZ fighting game, only prettier. *looks at nifty bubble effect in the screenshot above* Okay - much prettier.

"Atari is excited and ready to offer fans the next iteration of the Dragon Ball Z video game series on the next-gen consoles," said Donny Clay, Producer, Atari, Inc.
