Later this month, SNK's school girl witch DS touching game Doki Doki Majo Shinpan Duo goes on sale in Japan. To commemorate the event, the first Duo goods have been going on sale, like these illustrated collectible phone cards. They're available individually for pre-order at various Akihabara retailers. Some of the phone cards are riskier than the others. (The maximum one is placed safely after the jump — maybe NSFW, you have been warned!) There's a gallery below if you are curious and the bum bouncing jubblie jubbling trailer above in case you've forgotten exactly what Doki Doki Majo Shinpan is — touching girls to see if they are witches. SNK DS title Doki Doki Majo Shinpan let players touch young witches via the DS's touch screen. Using the stylus you can jiggle the witch jubblies! Saucy stuff, but not pornography. Still, it seems to have inspired computer erotic game Majo Michi, which is also set against vaguely reminiscent story plots and character designs, but also lets players touch young witches. It also possible to do other things as well. Players use their mouse for touching — which isn't as lighthearted as the DS stylus. Then again, Majo Michi makes up for the discrepancy other ways, we guess.

Something is missing. If those blue bars on the Doki Doki Majo Shinpan Duo are x-ray and make it possible to see through clothes, then yes, something is indeed missing. Somethings, rather. Also, note that the Doki Doki sequel is rated "CERO D" (17 and up) while the earlier game was rated only "CERO C" (15 and up). Infer what you like! Game's out July 31st.

Yet Another Girl Touching DS Game

Blame SNK and its witching touching game Doki Doki Majo Shinpan, because the floodgates have been opened. Wide. Saucy manga/anime To LOVEru is getting PSP and DS games this summer. To LOVEru follows a high school boy and an alien girl. Both the PSP and the DS games are rated 15 and up, but the DS version seems a tad riskier with its touching mini-games. That dirty Doki Doki Majo Shinpan manga we featured yesterday? Selling like hotcakes. Originally published in comic book Red Champion, the manga is based on the SNK Japan only DS game by the same name and is the work of Ken Yagami, who cut his teeth on erotic games and adult comics. The first volume of the Doki Majo comic has gotten good online reviews. It even apparently almost racked up an Akihabara sell out. Not sure about in Den-Den Town, though. Two things we sure about: 1). SNK should churn out more Doki Doki Majo Shinpan. 2). SNK will churn out more Doki Doki Majo Shinpan.

We're overdue, it's been too long. Time for a Doki Doki Majo Shinpan post! The naughty DS game that let players "touch" 13 year old witches wasn't nearly as dirty as it sounds. That's what the Doki Doki Majo manga is for! The comic version has been serialized, but now a book collection is on sale in Den-Den Town and Akihabara. It's not totally explicit, it's just rather slimy.

What SNK used to be know for? Fighters and Metal Slug. Witch-touching adventure game Doki Doki Majo Shinpan has changed that. The title has been a sleeper hit. SNK isn't forsaking the fighters, but is branching out. This February, the Osaka-based developer opened an Akihabara development branch. Doki Doki Majo Shinpan was originally conceived as an adventure cell phone game, but later shifted to the DS and subsequently reworked. "I was inspired by the touch panel, and it was a good fit," says producer Yoshiyasu Matsushita.

The game was unveiled at last year's TGS and snowballed. Just before release, the game posted higher on the Amazon Japan charts than The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. The game has launched a line of products that range from pillows to coffee mugs. "The reaction really surprised me," Matsushita says. "I wasn't expecting that. I was trying to make an adventure game." What about a possible English localization? "I don't know if it would suit American or European tastes. The game is designed for Japanese players," says Matsushita. A DS Doki Doki Majo Shinpan sequel was announced today. Does that mean Doki Doki is a new series, and we can expect endless sequels? "I don't think about it," he says. "I'm just trying to make Doki Doki Majo Shinpan 2. Then we'll see how that does." Matsushita is keen on a Wii version, "I am interested in doing a Wii version, but right now, I am very busy with Doki Doki Majo Shinpan 2."

The sexual themes have raised some eyebrows, but Matsushita says he was never concerned what rating the game was going to get. "If you make something that's interesting," he says, "people will play it no matter what."

The SNK witch touching game hit DSes a while back and noteworthy for being the closest thing to an erotic game the DS has seen. And this mouse pad? Well, it has jubblies for you to rest your wrist (like mouse pads do). This Akihabara had a small sign which read in English:

Think Doki Doki Majo Shinpan is the only girl touching DS game in town? Wrong! Upcoming title Kouenji Jyoshi Soccer 2, the DS sequel to the PS2 erotic game, apparently lets players touch young female soccer players. In it, you guide your school team to victory while trying to put your moves on the student body. The game is only 60 percent done, but when getting manhandled the female characters say things like "Teacher? Is there something on my clothes?" So smooth.

Want to play SNK's sleeper hit Doki Doki Majo Shinpan? Start learning Japanese. Even though it's rated 15 years-old and up, the witch toucher has the distinction of being the DS's first "adult" title — complete with boob flicking. An SNK spokesperson told me today:

...this title is only for Japanese market. We do not have any plan for localize to the other versions.

A damn shame! I was looking forward to seeing how SNK would slip this one under the radar and get this on Western store shelves. Like I said, a damn shame.

SNK Playmore's inappropriate touching game is getting the useless trinkets ("goods") treatment with Doki Doki Majo Shinpan crap flying at us from all angles. Following the game's release to the delight of Japan's horniest creeps comes the t-shirt, the mouse pad, the cell phone strap, the mug and five types of phone cards. An art book and the already revealed CD soundtrack are also available.

The mouse pad is, of course, of the soft breast design, providing ample support for your wrist between the questionably legal boobs of one of the game's molestation candidates. The t-shirt reads "Touch! Catch! Witch!" and sports a dual-screened design for proudly displaying one's unfortunate game purchasing choices.

We have already put our orders in with Bashcraft, hoping that he'll secure at least one of each for his trip across the Pacific. Fingers crossed that Customs lets them pass!

The wait is over. SNK's witch touching DS game Doki Doki Majo Shinpan has hit Japanese store shelves, and a limited number of official Doki Doki Majo talisman and stickers were given to customers on drop-date. Inevitable clips of the the "Witch Check" have of course popped up online. As far as erotic games go, this seems tame —even somewhat dull. During the "Witch Check," 14 year-old cheerleader Maho Akai keeps saying things like "That's bad," "Please stop" or "Gross." At the end, the girl goes "I don't know! I am not a witch" and then starts breathing heavily. Well then!

Doki Doki Majo Shinpan Gets English Website

The best day of this month? Today. Because today, reader Torokun sent word that SNK's witch-and-boy-toucher Doki Doki Majo Shinpan has an official English site. It gives a run down of the story, the game's system and "witch suspect introduction." Here are some cut and paste site highlights:

Story:"There is a boy; the student of the [Seirei Takagamine Junior High School] whose name is [Akuji Nishimura], is a little perverse and proud to be a bad boy."
Witch Check Mode: "Stare the ladies (using the icon of eye), smile to them in the appropriate timing, show them the evidences you have collected, and of course don't forget to have the normal communications such as directly touching them. Just wondering, is the directly touching is normal or not... Anyway, make full use of the icons, stylus, and your techniques to try making the heart of witches beating."
Search Mode and Touch Screen Event: "Use of the stylus is not restricted to examine, but it also can use for various actions such as, picking up the goods, and move the obstacles. There might have the time, you will break the lock open and rummaged about in the room. Slip into the place like classroom and changing room, check up the other's belongings to gather evidence of witches."
Magic Battle Mode: "This time, will explain about the Magic Battle Mode. As we gathered the evidence, hope to get to the Witch Check Mode at once. But not to mention, the witch suspect won't allow so easily let you touch...um, to check. So, sometimes necessary to resort to violence letting suspect obey our order."

A new screenshot shows that players will have to determine whether this "underage boy" is in fact a witch. As with all suspected witches in-game, touching them causes their heart rate to increase, revealing a "witch mark" on their body identifying them. Chances of this boy being a witch? Hottest game in Japan? According to Amazon, it's SNK's witch toucher Doki Doki Majo Shinpan. The game was previously known as Doki Doki Majo Saiban ("Throbbing Witch Trial"). A quick summary: Search for witches lurking in a junior high school. When the search is narrowed down, the suspected junior high school witch is examined with the touch pen. Usually, there's a "witch's crest" hidden somewhere on her body which can appear in "Witch Check Mode."

The DS game isn't out until July, but it's already topping Amazon Japan's "Best Seller" list. It's more popular than Final Fantasy Tactics and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. No, really! Over on the Doki Majo blog, the game's producer writes that he can't believe this has happened and gives out a big thank you. This crazy little game could be SNK's biggest hit in like forever.
