Simon Jansen obviously has too much time on his hands, being the man behind the ASCII recreation of the original Star Wars film, and now we know where he's been getting all of that time. Not only did he build his own version of Doctor Who's Tardis, he stuffed it with a folding MAME cabinet so he could play games from the past! Jansen has painstakingly documented the entire process, including a picture of his lizard, which I am positive was integral to the project. If I lived in a bizarro world where I didn't need to work and sleep in order to survive, I would have two of these.

<![CDATA[Doctor Who Coming To PS2, DS]]> I'm glad I'm not a giant Doctor Who geek, as this is exactly the sort of news that would drive me insane. Eidos has revealed that they will soon be ready to reveal their game based on the long-running British TV series, currently in development for the PlayStation 2, DS, and PC. Other than the fact that they'll be showing it to the press soon, that's all the information available, leaving us with many questions. Which Doctor will the game feature? Current Doctor David Tennant? Fan-favorite Tom Baker? Perhaps Paul McGann from the failed Fox TV pilot? Peter Cushing from the two 1960's feature films? Perhaps a combination? If the first Doctor were featured, would they use the likeness of William Hartnell or Richard Hurndall, who played him in the 1983 episode The Five Doctors due to Hartnell's dying 8 years prior? Man, I'm sure glad I'm not a big old Doctor Who geek, or this would drive me nuts! *twitches*

<![CDATA[Dr. Who Video Game For Christmas]]> Ah yes, it is high time we've received a right and proper Doctor Who video game. Unfortunately this one might not be much to dial home from the future via a temporally modified cell phone about. According to the official website of tenth Doctor actor David Tennant (the best since Tom Baker), UK card game company Top Trumps will be creating a game featuring the Doctor'.

Top Trumps have revealed their plans for a Doctor Who video game to be released in time for Christmas 2007.
It is thought it will be available on PC, PS2, DS and Mobile.
An advert for the game appears in the new Doctor Who Top Trumps card pack. We will have more details as we get them.
I'm guessing this is going to be a video game version of the card game, and it won't see the light of day outside of Europe. Still could be worth importing for us Yanks for the sheer novelty alone.
