Unlike their previous titles, this is not a rhythm game, but rather, a third person shooter. The game will come in to incarnations: an online PC game called S4 League and a PSP version called S4 Portable. When asked why Pentavision keeps making PSP games, the producer said they wanted to give something back to the fans who made their PSP rhythm game DJ Max Portable so popular. The new game is based on, and we're quoting the title's producer, "Stylish Shooting Sports." S4 League will focus more on team work, while the PSP incarnation will focus more on the "action game" elements. Characters from DJ Max Portable even make appearances! What's more, many musicians who provided music for DJ Max have created tunes for this game as well. Best part? Supposedly, the game will see a worldwide release.

<![CDATA[ The Puzzling DJ Max Puzzle ]]>

DJ Max Portable not only has me picking up my PSP again, but also taking it out of the house — the best thing one can say about a portable game! But, the game is hard. And sometimes, jigsaw puzzles are too. So, It's somehow fitting that DJ Max Portable 2 has a puzzle. This one looks kinda easy, though. A game this difficult should have 10,000 pieces — 100,000 even.

<![CDATA[ DJ Max Portable, Live, In Concert! ]]>

To promote PSP title DJ Max Portable a live event was held in Korea. All the music was featured in either the first DJ Max Portable or the second game. Plus, There were a DJ mix session, a cosplay event and cameras. Lots of cameras. Sounds like a night out on the town to me.

<![CDATA[ DJ Max Portable In The House ]]>

Created by Korea's Pentavision, DJ Max Portable is a rhythm action game for the PSP. A really good rhythm action game that actually has me picking my favorite paperweight, the PSP, up again. Was sent the game yesterday evening and played it for an hour or so before calling it a night. The music is catchy, fantastic. Besides various modes of difficulty, DJ Max Portable also features unlockable tunes and modes. The game and its sequel are smash hits in Korea, but have yet to see a Western release. So, publishers, answer me: Why?

Contrary to popular belief, I do not hate all readers. No, some of you, the ones who write smart or witty comments, I actually like. Though, commenter Torokun has gone way above and beyond by sending me this copy of DJ Max Portable. He's a big fan of the game, had an extra, asked if I wanted it and sent it my way. Very kind of him and much appreciated!

<![CDATA[ Handheld Importing: Not Just For Nerds ]]> As some of Japan's (and Korea's) best games never make it stateside, those of us who enjoy the finer things in life are forced to import. It can be scary for those of us who don't know a lick of Japanese, but with no region protection in place on either the PSP, the Game Boy Advance or the Nintendo DS, it's just too easy not to import.

Fortunately for us, handheld specialists Modojo have put together their list of the best (currently) import-only titles that you are missing out on. While I personally feel that the list is lacking some bit Generations Dotstream and Rhythm Tengoku, it has rekindled my interest in snagging a copy of DJ Max Portable.

Besides, any list that caps off with Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan at #1 is definitely right.
