Seriously, just be normal gay or normal bi or normal straight. When people just act normal there aren't any problems because the subject is a non-issue. When people "openly" act different for one reason or another, it causes a lot of friction. Of course, these are only my opinions which have been formed over the course of several jobs with very diverse sets of people.

@TetraGenesis: Turambar has a better explanation of what I meant by drawing a distinction between open and normal. It's a pattern of behavior that's not just limited to orientation. I've met people who were "openly fat", "openly furry", and "openly cat lovers". It's just been my experience that there are people who are what they are and don't care what others think, and then there are those who flaunt what they are about to the point where it gets in the way. Typically, but not always, it's been my experience the ones going too far describe themselves as open. I can't say for certain which way things went in this article, but I'm definitely getting the impression that there was too much getting in the way of work.

Do you have any concept of what you're saying? The Bill of Rights, part of the Constitution, exists solely to protect civil rights. "Unconstitutional" is not a synonym for "I disagree with it".

And fuck Lionhead if their employees can't act like grownups and learn to accept someone because they are different.

Now, just a word of wisdom for you all. America is the only country in the world where people can sue over ridiculous bullshit like "Somebody Offended Me" and quite frankly, It's fucking nonsense. It's the same baby mentality that elected that socalist douchebag Obama.
Now, this Durrant guy has every right in the world to be upset with his ex-employer and seek some sort of compensation for the fact that he was being abused in the workplace. Thats what the real issue is here, not the fact that he is gay.
And I hate to break it to you but mother nature has already dictated that it takes a man and a woman in order to pro create and guarantee humanities survival. It simply is not "normal" to be gay. There's no arguement for that either. Two men cannot make a baby and vice versa. Homosexual people need to cope with the reality that something is different inside of them than most other people and because of that they are going to probably lead a harder life. Its nature. Simple as that.

Sexual harassment is real but something smells bad here.

I don't go around making a big deal about being straight and married. I don't express it openly to everyone. It is a private issue that if you bring out in the open then you get what you ask for.
There are people that don't like homosexuality and/or think it's right/wrong. Much like polotics, if you can't handle the good/bad/ugly of the conversation topic, then don't friggen bring it up! Don't ask don't tell.

Try working somewhere and hiding the existence of the most important people in your life and see if that feels normal.

Not to mention the way things are now with the world, its not such an easy place where companies will pick up someone with little to no skills in a field they are applying for if you are telling him to get one in a different location, plus if he doesnt fix his current issues hes not going to be able to do his old type of trade. Compounded by the fact that if this "case" isnt cleared up, its going to make it even more difficult to land a new job due to his perm. record with his current company.

Even more so when you see the general reaction of people here online, makes you wonder what kind of reactions hes getting from people in the "real" world.
Doesnt exactly help ones condition when you feel like you are an outcast. Granted it may not be the case here, but its to show another point in regards to a potential reason why he might not be back on the job.

This guy, suffering from what some would consider severe depression, was offered counseling and refused it. Why? Because "They're making out that I'm the one with the problem."

Everyone has different thresholds and will react differently.
We were not all created equal basically.

I expect this thread to reach 100+ plus posts in a couple of minutes. Hopefully not full of ignorant and hate-filled comments. Y'know the kind the ones that spew tirades of racist-hate on XBL...

We don't know the context or purpose behind the statements or if he joined in on other such nonsense about someone else. Fat Boy Jim, Still Living With His Parents Bob or what have you. Maybe when it came back to him or he thought he could make a quick buck he decided to have his feelings "hurt".
Oh and you people making fun of or telling the first poster to "die" are a bunch of hypocrites.
