"Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe" could make for a great WarioWare clone.

Bah, Bear is a liar. He may eat gross things, but Survivorman is a little more real. See my video for an example.

@Chris Rideout: Dude, the show was never about being real.. Typical american idiocy to claim the man has no validity when you get sucked into the Realism-is-better-than-entertainment thing...

He crams several days in 40 minutes, bites heads of things, ventures into caves and scales mountains with or without harnas.
Of course it's not gonna be all real, you don't watch this specific program for that. Your looking for survivorman (boring yet educational) or Ray Mears (informative yet pretentious)

No real survivor is gonna backflip 50ft into unchecked waters, run downhill like a madman, or brave africanized bees for some honey. The guy makes a kick-ass show with high entertainment value, nothing more, nothing less. #thedeadliestcatch

@Chris Rideout: It's funny Fahey should mention drinking his own urine - there used to be a comparison video between Survivorman (Stroud) and Grylls in that scenario. Grylls steeled his will and drank it straight. Stroud made a simple solar still to extract the water from it and drank that, then explained how harmful it can be to drink straight urine.

Bear will also do things like swim a rapid... with a life jacket that wasn't part of his survival gear on under his shirt. On one hand, it's just theatre, but people could easily be killed trying to emulate him if they were lost in the wild, since he doesn't actually do what he's representing. #thedeadliestcatch

@fuchikoma: Bear also says how dangerous it is to drink your own urine but as he says "it is a last resort that will help you last that bit longer". He has also done the dew traps with his urine when he has had the time.

They aren't going to put Bear or Survivorman in situations that can kill them because they didn't plan it out first. The main thing is it is good TV and the things you see are survival techniques that can work if you are pushed to doing it. For eating bugs and snakes etc and even the africanised bees stinging him it is pretty real and not a reality I want to ever find myself in. #thedeadliestcatch

@fuchikoma: People could easily be killed trying to emulate things done on TV regardless of the reality of the validity of the person doing it on TV. What's your point? Oh, so-and-so did it without nets or life preserver, so now it is OK and no longer a risk to do! Right..... Common sense tells me that it is smart for the star of a TV show not to actually risk their lives, that our entertainment is not that important. I hope everything he does has some sort of "safety net". Common sense is also your best bet if your lost in the wild. If it looks dangerous, you bloody well better find a different way around and not rely on what you saw last week on the Discovery channel. #thedeadliestcatch

In Sweden, the UK version with Bill Petrie was aired.

Hmm I wonder how they will do Man vs Wild. I think they should take the climbing aspect that are used in Uncharted and try to fit them into MvW. #thedeadliestcatch

@SeraphimJulius: I respectfully disagree.. Uncharted 2's climbing mechanics can't hold a candle to Assassins Creed..

Man vs. Wild/Ultimate Survival is about freedom, living wild, exploring.. having pre determined, linear routes would just destroy what the game should be all about. #thedeadliestcatch

Instead of a Man vs. Wild game, I think it would be more interesting to have one based on Survivorman. Not only would you need to conquer the elements, you would also need to move the camera for each scene. #thedeadliestcatch
