Remember around Christmas when Wal-Mart stores were filled with Wii and DS holiday merchandise? Well many of them still are, and that crap has to go. Now these bargains might not be available at every store - I've seen them at two now so far - but the chance to get a 2000 point Wii Points card bundled with a crappy classic controller sleeve for only $15 is worth looking into, especially with the recent launch of WiiWare.

Other deals I saw included the DS lite starter kits with some kind of system cover and your choice of games (Elite Beat Agents, Polarium, or True Swing Golf) discounted to $9, and the Nintendo Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training at an extremely respectable $12.

<![CDATA[HD DVD Player Gets Another Price Drop]]> 360dvdsoldout.JPG

NeoGafer Alcibiades points out that Best Buy has dropped the price of the Xbox 360 HD DVD drive... again. Now the thing is hovering at a penny under $150. Plus you can tack on that Toshiba deal for five free HDDVDs. Too bad Best Buy's website is already listing the 360 peripheral as sold out. Let's hope that's temporary and not the sign of a disappearing act by one of the HD video formats.

<![CDATA[Discounted Xbox 360 Games and Accessories]]>

Media Play is shutting its combined doors. All 61 of the stores in 18 states will be closed by late January, according to a story in my very own Rocky Mountain News. (There s five stores in Colorado.)

Reader Shawn says he swung by a store in Detroit and found that everything was already 10 to 40 percent off. And get this: They have Xbox 360 games and accessories. I shit you not. Go on, don t finish reading this, run to the store, get deals.

Shawn says 360 games were 10 percent off and accessories were 20 percent off. I'm hitting one later this morning if I can find time.
